Free newsgroup access for usenet with virgin media

I just found out about this a few days ago, virgin offer a free newsgroup service(for virgin media broadband customers only), the server is news.virginmedia.com
This is great for people who have never used usenet before, but the bad thing is theres only a 7 day retention, ie files older than 7 days can't be downloaded. However it does have unlimited downloads, I've already downloaded a few episodes, one was HD. It maxed out my download speed too, but if you download alot during the day virgin will probably throttle your speed, its best to download after 9pm. Heres a good tutorial if anyone is interested

As its free, 7 days should be fine (as long as its complete and full NG lists available) When I started using usenet (and paying about £10 per month) it was just 3 days retention for binaries.

Oh yeah you have to be a customer of virgin media broadband, should have added that but I suppose its kinda obvious.

Done! Oh also, even when virgin were throttling my speed, I was still achieving a steady 300kb/s, I never got that with torrents. After 9pm it shot way past 1mb/s.

Ouch! I get 1450KB with Be! No throttleing and no caps.

Yeah I hate throttling, I was getting 2000kb/s at one point, which I thought was odd since I only have a 10megabit connection. I can get around 1-1.2 mb/s most of the time. The retention period is poor though, but I can't complain seeing as its free.

The rar file I got from an NZB file from that site has a password, and I can't open it. Is there any convention for passwords. Are they listed on the site somewhere?:?
