FREE TIPS AND TRICKS ADVICE ON HOW TO SAVE MONEY BY HAGGLING( SAVE HUNDREDS)

BITSANDBOBS_123BITSANDBOBS_123

If your a watchdog addict like me you will have seen Martin(the money saving expert) explaining how you can save money by haggling, Well I thought that us here on HUKD we'd do a similar experiment to see how much we can all save. I'll start of, I rang up sky and told them that I was a returning customer and they offered me their basic package for £10 a month (which is a actually £20) on a rolling contract so can cancel whenever. SAVING OF £120 A YEAR. Also rang up o2 (my broadband provider) as I had been a customer with them for 3 years, they offered me 9 months free broadband (which is actually £12 a month), so would only have to pay £36 for 12 months, effectivly making it ONLY £3 a month. SAVING OF £108 A YEAR. Did the same with BT and they gave me £3 off a month. SAVING £36 A YEAR. ALTOGHETHER THAT A GRAND SAVING OF £264 A YEAR. WHOOPEEE! The link is for a guide to haggling from Martin. GOOD LUCK HAGLING EVERYONE!

I'm in the process of letting my house and Foxtons, a major estate agent in the London area are pestering me to give the house to them. However, their fees are 17% + VAT = 20.4% and boy they will just not budge. No amount of haggling gets them to move.

The competition is 10% + VAT = 12% from other local agents, but sadly not shifting.

Anyone want a 6 bed detached in Harrow, barely a mile from the School? Rent negotiable from £3500.

So true, kinda like when women buy stuff in the sales and say "i saved X amount" when in reality, they would have saved even more by not buying in the first place.

If that rent is "per year", then you've just sold it to me! ;-)

    My top tip....

Most of us go to the supermarket, wander around, shove what we like in the trolley and pay by Debit card, having no idea what the bill will be until we pay.
Why not set a budget, withdraw that amount in cash, lock your cards in the car. Then instead of being on auto pilot you will have to THINK about what you are buying and how much it costs so that you only spend up to the cash amount you have.

You can each month set a lower amount and see if you can get spend even more wisely.

    It stops impulse buys.

or what about internet shopping where you know exactly how much your bill is and if you order a week in advance you have a chance to change your mind and look for offers as they come on? we do this every week, definately help with spending on budget, not that we have a budget of course.
