Hi

I have a sky box in my living room, and I want to get a freesat box for my bedroom.

I keep reading I need to hook my freesat box to my sky satilite. Just wondering how to do this and how painfull is it??

First off, your LNB on the dish will have to have multi feeds from it, so have a look, if it's only got one F Connector socket, then it'll have to be replaced with a multi feed one. Once you've got that sorted, you'll need to run a cable from the LNB into your bedroom, connect the freesat box to the other end of the LNB cable and follow the tuning instructions that'll come with the Freesat box.

Your main worry really is if your LNB has multi feeds from it.

why not run some coax from living room to bedroom? and have sky there too.?!?!

Do you have Sky+? If you do you certainly have a LNB (the bit on the front of the dish the cables come out of) that has multiple outputs.

Then as said above you just run a cable from the LNB to the Freesat box and everything is gravy.
If not you will need to buy a new quad LNB (you can pick them up from ebay)

Cheers for the advice. :)

Sorry to sound thick but what is a LNB?
Also my dish is on the other side of my house to my bedroom, to run a cable from my dish to my freesat would be a bit difficult, is there any less painfull way??

Coax cable is really cheap.
You could easily make up a cable yourself, however actually getting it into your house may be a bit of an issue :P

Do you have ventilation under the fascia board on the roof? If you do you could feed it through the attic and down the other side.
