Hi all,

My Granddad has been asking me about Freesat.

He already has freeview via the digi box, but wants to know if it's worth changing to Freesat (there wouldn't be a cost as I could sort it out for him inc Freesat card).

But, do you get any extra channels with one or the other ?

Thanks

I looked at that, but it was written 2 years ago & doesn't help much

Is there a site that just says, you get these channels on Freesat & not freeview or vice versa etc ?

Thanks

The only reason I can see for getting freesat is for freesat HD if you have a good TV and you get the correct freesat box.

Cheers all.

So it looks like it's not worth them moving over (there not going down the HD route !) ?

I would say that to be able to watch things like 'Yellowstone' and 'Natures Great Events' makes it worth having the HD but with just one channel available most of the time you have to really enjoy these types of programs to get your moneys worth plus already have a sat dish.....

Freesat FAQ page here: http://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/freesatfaq.html

I have both Freeview and Freesat. Freeview gives me some channels Freesat doesn't have and vice versa. The main reason I got Freesat was for FREE HD as I dont want to shell out on a Sky subscription. I used the Sky "pay once watch forever" loophole for effectively a free installation.
