Please can someone tell me can you buy a freeview box and connect it to a TV that works on an internal airiel on the TV? This is what my daughter wants to do but I think you have to have a connection to an external source, can anyone help?

It is possible, but a lot depends on your area...

If the signal is strong enough it may work, but only for a few channels. Thats what I found with a USB freeview stick attached to an internal signal.

So basically....maybe.....sorry couldn't be of more help

Run our bedroom TV from an internal aerial, and pick up all freeview channels without a problem.

I've got this one:

Have you not got a freeview box in another room you could try?? Or buy one from argos, and if it doesn't work take it back!

If you get a very good picture on the standard channels with the indoor aerial, then you are getting a good enough signal to pick up the freeview channels

I am running a Bush Freeview box that I bought for £19.99 in Sainsburys on an indoor aerial in the bedroom and it works perfectly.

My daughter can't have one in her room because she doesn't get a good signal using an indoor aerial on that side of the house.

If you do buy a box, just check you can take it back for a refund - like if you bought from a supermarket then you can just take it back and say "it won't pick up the channels, whereas my old one did so I want a refund" or something like that.

Hope this helps

Thanks very much everyone some really useful information, I don't know what Id do without hotukdeals members. I'll give it a go as my son has a good signal on his TV in his room so it can always go in there.
