The best idea is all buy from one outlet to force the others to lower their prices, unfortunately the British public havn't got the get up and go of other countries and are happy to sit back and pay up.

Things like this never take off.

The problem isn't the retailers prices its the duty placed on it by the goverment which is 1 of the highest in Europe

Even if the petition succeeded (which it won't) the gov (whoever gets in) will just tax something else.....

Isn't the duty a fixed rate though? Surely petrol prices should reflect oil prices, but they seem to be totally independant of each other sometimes.

Can't remeber the exact figure but I'm sure the goverment takes about 60 - 70p for every litre of petrol sold but someone may know the exact figure
