hi peeps im looking for some help regarding the above,i restored my lappy about 6 weeks ago all was fine except no sound i used the driver and utlilty disk with no joy had a google about and downlowded kb888111 hotfix with still no joy,i could live without the sound as its only used in bed for looking through ebay ect but,i did the same to my sons desktop as it was full of viruses and you guessed it he has no sound either :( lappy is a fujitsu siemens amilo pro and desktop is fujitsu siemens both on windows xp any ides would be greatly appriecated ps when i go into hardware it says there is no sound card in the we box but we always had sound on both is there something ive missed

What model is the laptop and and the desktop?

We cant help find the right driver without them
:oops:ty dm sorry,lappy is Fujitsu-Siemens amilo pro v3515 and desktop is Fujitsu-Siemens SCALEO P both on windows xp

Just realised that it is the same page for both. I actually got to the drivers for the laptop, but it wont let me link direct to it. Hopefully you'll get it sorted.,

:?when i looked on my main pc at the link i could see the driver so came upstairs to lappy to download and install it and this is all i am getting

The high definition audio driver requires a windows patch which you seem to have done, but the basic audio functions should work even without that, bit odd, did you re-install windows without formatting first?.

did you try the automatic driver update software from FS?
Just one more thought. Do you have Service Pack 3 installed? Right click My Computer, choose Properties to find out. If it is installed, this is where the problem might be. My wife's laptop did exactly what has happened to you, until I uninstalled Service Pack 3. If it is there, try uninstalling it via Control Panel, Add / Remove Programs. If not, you might have to contact Fujitsu helpdesk.
:?hi there sorry been at work all day yes i do have service pack 3 installed it updated when i first took it back ,if i uninstall service pack 3 will it still be on the net? sorry im not to good with comps as you can prob tell
