Fundraising Ideas

deathtrap3000deathtrap3000

Hi everyone.

I'm hoping to get some ideas to help me raise money for this charity event I am taking part in. I work for BT and each year they team up with a Charity called Challenge Worldwide: Training for Life and ask BT employees to volunteer to take part in a charity event. This year the focus of the charity is to raise money for children and communities in Africa.
The idea is to raise around £3500 which will go towards repairing classrooms, feeding programs for children, materials for new classrooms, accommodation and medical facilities, a rainwater conservation system and a few others things that will really help change the children and their families lives.
The event also involves the group of about 60 people who are taking part going over to the slums of Africa and a small community in Tanzania and actually making repairs to the classrooms, helping to feed and educate the children, help build some of the new classrooms and rainwater system.
I have raised a bit of money so far but I am looking for ideas that will really help me get of the ground. They have set a few targets and the first is to raise £500 by the end of May. All the money raised will go to the charity and the costs of all the flights, accommodation and guides will be covered by the people taking part.

Would be extremely grateful for any help.

I am setting up a charity gig. Also doing a mad hatters sod the diet tea party, where everyone will pay donations to help. When my sister was raising money to go to south africa for charity work, she did a soup kitchen thing after the church service of our local church, which raised loads.

Get the 60 people who are willing to pay to go over to donate their approx £1k costs each so £60k ship that over to the charity over their and let them use it themselves and more efficiently!

maybe try and get biggest group of people you know to donate some. At work we do a salad club, where people prepare yummy salads for free, and then charge the rest of the work force the going rate in shops knowing that 100% goes to charity. The cost of a salad where we work is about £4, so if you can get 20 people twice a week, that's £160 per week.

I like playing computer games, so set up a few tournaments at work on the big screen. £10 entry fee, and 50% goes to charity, the rest to the winner(s). A simple knock out game on Fifa or Mario Kart can get £100 easy.

Could you approach all colleagues in the organisation, have a dress down day, £1 a person with all money to the charity. At each site have a coordinator who could organise a cake sale etc, more cash generated(_;)
The size of BT, you should easily generate the required amount and more....... Think national

That Mario Kart tournament sounds like a good idea. I was going to post something on the company intranet site and see if I could raise some money that way. Thanks everyone for the ideas.
