Fuse blown in hair straightners....

OK, so my daughter's hair straightners went kapput, she said they sparked near the base, then the tripper switch went. Well I just changed the fuse on them and they work again, but I'm paranoid, lol. Would the plug fuse blowing make the straightners spark like that? or would that indicate they have developed a fault that blew the fuse?

blowing a fuse does mean a fault, its most likely the cable has been strained, twisted or pinched, the short blew the fuse

all it can do is blow the fuse, then you know it is broken

as long as yo used the correct fuse all it can do is blow again

LMAO.

I figured you were right, so plugged them back in, switched them on and gave the wire a wiggle.

BANG!!

Trip switch went again, another fuse blown and the straighteners have gone in the bin. lolll

Many thanks xx

i have both the red radiance pro 230's and the original black ones and i can honestly say the cheap (usually under £30) black pro 230's are better. my hair is naturally really curly and they do a brilliant job of getting it poker straight
:) hope that helps :)

I'm really lucky with her, she never wants all the fancy stuff, she's never felt the need to keep up with the Joneses :)

A 16 year old girl who doesn't demand ipods, iphone, ghd's etc.... I must have been good in a previous life! lol

Ooh, thanks. I've been reading reviews and they seem ok, will keep my eyes open for the black ones too :)

It was at the base of the straighteners, not at the plug end, unfortunately lol
