That is actually a decent price.
You will lose only a tenner instead of over £300 for this gimmick
Gimmick? VR is amazing.
Easily worth £300.

Either way it'll last longer than your note :p

Don't understand why some people who are desperate for it to fail. What difference does it make to you if others are enjoying themselves? No one is forcing you to play.

Sorry to tell you Sony have said they're increasing production to meet demand.

It truly disgusts me. Not only did they fail to get demos to people before launch, after giving the most pathetic excuses. They are now charging for demos.

Somethings gotta be wrong, nothing I've seen on the game.co.uk twitter about it. If it's true that's disgusting. I only buy from Game when they have a decent sale on a specific title, a bit of merchandise I'm after, or clearance on collectors editions.

Other than that, I don't remember the last full price title I've purchased from them.

Same in Stratford Westfield store. They have a piece of paper on the PS4 demo stand which reads "10 minutes of VR for £5".

Bloody chancers. Their twitter feed is full of people ripping into them anyway, mayyyyyybe they'll get the hint that it's bad for business...oh wait it's Game :)..

No doubt Sony are getting a cut from this as well. Shameless behaviour from Game and all it does is **** off consumers except the idiots who pay for it.

Tried this for free at Meadowhall it's amazing. Have a look here to see where you can try for free

The thing is paying to try it hints at it being a gimic, like they don't think people will buy after trying it so need to charge to recoup the money.

From trying the vive, oculus and gear. It's fun, for a bit.

I can't see how down graded visuals from that of the vive and limited movement would mean more fun.

So first VR is dead I the water and going to die out like 3D.

Now your beef is that an £800 headset might look better? Make your mind up.

Perhaps you should get yourself down to GAME and pay your 15 quid X)

VR is easily the best gaming experience I've ever had. I've let friends and family (most who aren't gamers) try it out and they're all absolutely blown away by how good it is. Comparing it to kinect is ridiculous imo.

They're a company selling an experience. If there's a market for it then good for them and if there isn't then they'll soon realise. How anyone is disgusted by this I don't know.

If they reinvest it in air freshener for the stores isn't that a net benefit? (Haven't been in one since before last Christmas getting the nephews' gifts, but the odours in there are not natural surely.)

Many of the reviews that compare, Vive, Rift, Gear & PSVR all point to PSVR being the superior device, in terms of functionality and price,

The graphics are worse so must be bad has been going on since the Speccy vs Amiga days and in reality it means nothing.

Id rather play Mario Galaxy than the graphically superior Ryse any day.

Graphics can add to an experince but they certainly dont make it. the PSVR has something 3D didn't and that is immersion, I'm not just blindly defending VR, because I fell like most people for Kinect and Move, I WAS a sucker for gimmicks and I like to be the first with new tech, but after using the headset only for an hour, there was something very special about it, and i'm itching to get back to playing with it, ill be knocking the boys out of the way on Christmas Day.

Doesn't work I'm afraid. Mario Galaxy in 480p vs. Mario Galaxy emulated and rendered in 4K = massive difference. Saying that the psvr is built for the ps4 and that is why it's pointless giving it such a high resolution. This product will only work if Sony lazy devs actually get off their backsides and actually support a product for once.

The reason why the ps vr always wins is due to the cost of the set up.

ps4 200 ish
ps vr 350
£550 total

HTC vive around £700
Another £500-700 for a gaming pc
total £1200-1400

Oculus £550
PC £500-700
total £1050-1250

Because it's cheaper and easier to get involved doesn't make it the better experience. I would believe the Vive is the best VR experience on the market but it's restricted by its high entry costs.

Your comparing the same game vs better resolution, that doesn't change the gameplay and of course it would be better at a better resolution. I said Galaxy vs something like Ryse with state of the art graphics for console still Galaxy is the better game at 480p or even 576i as most people didn't have a component cable.

You would think Vive would be best wouldnt you, but there is a lot of hate for room scale tech as it doesnt work very well and constantly loses tracking, now i'm no fan of Jim Stirling but...

he compares them and while he isnt a VR fan, he has good things to say for PSVR and only hatred for VIVE. he hasnt used rift. being the most expensive or tech laden also isnt predetermination of best.

I think its fair to say that all have strengths and weaknesses, and that they will evolve better over time, 10 years from now who knows where we will be heading, there is already tech with lasers than can draw onto your retina meaning the headsets can become basically a pair of wireless glasses, but if you want to experince VR right now where it all begins then i dont think you can do better than PSVR.

But if its not your thing thats fine, I dont understand why people are wanting it to fail, isnt this kind of thing good for the industry as a whole?

snip

The reasons I've not adapted to VR is
1) cost over benefit
2) am I going to use it often
3) library of games (not vr experience demos)
4) where am I going to put it. My room space is tiny.

I agree, another 10, or even 5 years. Vr will improve a lot. At the moment it's the in thing. So people want it to fail as it's the most talked about hyped tech out there. (Pokemon go was hated for its success).

Myself, I'd like to see where it goes. But after taking a small look into VR (gear vr my only owned platform). Everything on the gear vr store is small experience demos, something that you usually play once and that's it.

The only game that felt like a game was Minecraft VR, the freedom, the choice to do what you want was exactly what I expect from a VR title.

That's what put me off the VR hype train. I doubt a lot of the games will feel like a triple A title. But will feel more like a VR experience demos. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, as I've not used a HTC vive, Rift or ps vr so I've not experienced hand tracking, which I feel makes up the vr experience, demo or not.

Fanboyism, pure and simple.

It's sad really that people can't make their choices and enjoy them, without having to reinforce it by arguing with others that made a different choice.

Just game, and be happy about it :)

It's sad really that people can't make their choices and enjoy them, without having to reinforce it by arguing with others that made a different choice.
Just game, and be happy about it :)

It's people making it sound like the best thing since sliced bread that's the issue, and the main reason a lot of people are knocking them down a peg. At the moment the main ''fanboyism'' is coming from those who own a PSVR making it sound like a revolution when in fact, it's been done and been done better before.
