Having been on the lookout for a HyperX Cloud 2 headset for a while, when GAME reduced the red and black one on Friday I bought it as I had a couple of quid left on a reward card. When buying it I topped up the remainder with my bank card and and went ahead.
On the Monday I received an email notifying me that the headset was out of stock and that I would receive a full refund. Disappointing, but not too big a deal.
The headset was in stock at Amazon (although more expensive) so I logged into my GAME wallet to withdraw the money. Slight issue. I couldn't find an option to withdraw my balance. Not too worried I got onto the live chat with GAME only to be told that there is no option to withdraw back to your bank, and that "they have plenty of other headsets available". I thought I kept my cool quite well, but apparently not as the **** on the live chat hung up.

If anyone has any advice on what to do next i'd be grateful, but if not I just want to warn people not to use GAME at all preferably - but if you must don't use the GAME Wallet.

Did the balance that you topped up go onto the game card? If so, go and have a chat with live support again.

Did you 'top-up' your wallet or did you pay the extra to a store?
The terms and conditions for the wallet very carefully ignore the 'withdrawing cash' issue though there is lots of 'get out of jail free cards' for game.

You can remove giftcards.

'Can I remove Gift Cards from my Wallet?

Yes! It’s the same way as adding a card – sign in and go to the funds tab where you’ll see a Manage button. Click on Manage and it will show all the Gift Cards you have associated with your Wallet - you can remove any Gift Cards here.'

Use the GC's as pressies maybe?

I had something like £2.50 in my GAME wallet so when I selected the GAME wallet as the payment method it prompted me to top it up. It didn't warn me that i would be locked into spending that money with GAME for eternity.

EDIT - I topped it up directly from my bank card.

I had thought about buying something online and returning it instore but the guy on live chat said that would need to go back onto the wallet as well.
Worst case i'll just have to use it, but I would rather not.
I'll phone or go in soon so I can try and bully them into giving my money back, as that's harder to do online.

16. GAME Reward points have no cash redemption value.

Is that what you mean?

Oh, I thought you meant cash from points you had accrued. I didn't realise you had actually added cash to your wallet. I expect it says somewhere in the T&C. It's Game though - remember VR test drives?

Another reason not to ever use game again. I never shop there and i am amazed they are still afloat.

same here. boycotting "game" as well since they told me I'd be getting all 4 copies of the game mafia (the pricing error of 9.99 ) and made up a lot of excuses with nothing to back it up since I was making good points and I never got anywhere after speaking to a manger for an hour ! plus you can get most things cheaper elsewhere from trusted sites. only issue if you like to go in store for pickups and like to have a look around if there only an online shop .
