looks good for a cheap build :)
i would maybe consider an extra 2gb of ram if you can afford it though.

I use a C2d e6300 1.8ghz, 2gb ram and an ATI x1900xt and it runs all the valve games on high so it does me :)

sounds ok to me as it is,

yea they are soaring for ram atm!

You didn't put an optical drive in; I've put one in but otherwise take it out of my spec.

I thought for gaming 2 gigs of ram would be ok?

Would 4 gigs improve fps?

I have the budget and will take action on your advice.

I'd go for four gigs if I could :)

If you don't need an optical drive I'd go for the following:

I agree. Treat yourself to more RAM further down the line.
Never come close to using all my memory, but I don't have loads of pointless background tasks running on boot.

I'd probably buy 2GB now and then wait for DDR3 to fall and then buy the extra 2GB if I needed it later.

In the meantime I'd also consider this if I was building the system. Looks pretty good.

2gb ddr2 is enough, you might want more further down the line if you ever decide to upgrade your other parts such as the CPU or gfx card

I dont get it, why is everyone harping on gettin 2GB's more RAM, when prices are stupid and its a GAMING PC so maybe look at something better than a 4770?
Jheeze.... I would get a 4850 +
and 2GB wil be fine plus you can upgrade when the prices drop. Invest in the better cpu/gpu performance than ram atm.

Something like this then?
