No Man's Sky was the worst (obviously)
Still looking for the best

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine is *easily* my GotY for 2016. It may technically be an expansion, but thinking of it only in those terms would be selling it short.

Beyond that, there's a fair amount that I still need to get to and I need to give some proper thought to ordering, but Dishonored 2, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, DOOM and Uncharted 4 would have to be up there with the best.

There are so many other games that I could mention - it's been a great year for gaming! (at least 2016's been good for *something*...)

I don't have a 'worst' game that would be worthy of that title - the great majority of what I've played has been very high-quality. I do expect that we'll get a lot of hate for No Man's Sky from others here, though. :(

Forza Horizon 3 was best imo.

Best is Titanfall 2, the campaign is fantastic and the multiplayer is fast and fluid. It does what CoD does movement wise but better, and can be played solo if your friends aren't online unlike Battlefield which feels like a chore at times.

Worst is probably going to be vanilla launch no mans sky. It's not the worst game ever even if overly entitled gamers (who are the worst) made it out to be. It's concepts had been done better elsewhere, and near identical planets even if procedurally generated didn't offer variety. I only managed a few hours of it before going elsewhere. My personal worst game was Steep. It just felt confused.

deus ex mankind divided has been the best.fifa/cod are the worst, same sxxt different skin.
#8
best was star wars battlefront, worst was virtually every game I tried on PlayStation Plus.
#9
I was disappointed with starwars battlefront, guess I expected more from it
#10
It's a toss up between Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 for the best. Only started playing Titanfall 2 recently but it's absolute blast!

No Man's Sky was a massive let down.

Yeah, it was a bit rubbish at launch. Vastly improved with the DLC though, but can't help thinking that this should have been included in the main game.

Favourite was the DOOM campaign. Unabashed retro sci-fi shooter fun. Super smooth, fast gameplay too.

That said, maybe SFV was the game of the year. Endless pick up and play action. Hard to get so much value out of anything else.

Edit: going to take a look at Battlefield 1, not typically my cup of tea, all that world war stuff, but sounds worth a look in.

Doom, Battlefield 1, Oxenfree, Inside.

Dishonored 2 is my letdown of the year, although I enjoyed some elements of the game overall it's a disappointing sequel and a technical travesty.

Edited By: MBeeching on Dec 29, 2016 10:54: Dishonourable mention

Favourite: Twilight Princess HD.

Worst: not sure yet.

Hmm, I did rather enjoy the story mode to dragon quest builders.

Steep fit worst. Less than 20 mins on the beta before deleting it.

Best game Overwatch hands down, best single player is Firewatch.

Worst game is Alekhine's Gun, seriously check it out if you want a sub par Hitman game that looks like it belongs on a PS2.
#18
I'm still struggling with my backlog, haven't bought a new game at launch for years. currently playing call of juarez - gunslinger on ps3, and resogun on ps4. Just waiting for gtav to be delivered to have a try on the ps4.
#19
Weird one, didnt really like any AAA (besides The Division despite other's opinions) so im going to have to say Firewatch
As for worst, im not too sure as i haven't played NMS or any other really poorly rated games

Quite easily Blood and Wine DLC

If DLC does not count then I'd say

- Forza Horizon 3

Worst -

Hmm difficult but I'd say

- MGS Phantom Pain which I played this year

If it's a game released this year then

- Star Trek Online.... But that can't even be considered a game because of how **** (Offensive word not 4 star rating X)) it is so I'd say Deus Ex

I just couldn't get into the witcher (but I think that was due to lack of time to play) I'm tempted to pick it up in the Xbox sale, I quite enjoyed Uncharted 4 aswell (haven't played Deus or DOOM as they aren't my kind of games) I got about 10 hours into NMS before I got bored and decided to sell before the price crash. But it appears they are taking the right steps to try and 'fix' some of the game

Not picked titanfall 2 up yet, really should of when it hit the £20/£25 mark.

I have been quite tempted with Oxenfree for a few months and despite it being on sale a few times, I haven't bought it yet, but I might pick it up in this sale. I haven't completed Dishonored 2 yet (infact probably haven't played it for 6 weeks)

Yeah I can't stand the dlc policy either. I'll wait till the expansion pass is on sale to get it I think

If you liked uncharted try out rise of the Tomb Raider, I enjoyed that more :)

As for the Witcher I'd definitely say give it another go, it's absolutely amazing. It's £6.55 from Russia on Xbox which is a bargain.

Like with horizon 2 I bought the ultimate edition from the Xbox store at £70/£80 whatever it was, then if I wanted storm island they would only discount half and then I had to pay extra for like 3 other car packs. With Horizon 3 I just bought the VIP as I didn't wanna buy the car pass (I can just hold off and buy it when all the DLC is out) Then another £30 for the expansion pass, so its around £112 for everything! (Probably doesn't include the last few car packs)

That game has been on my radar for a bit (just never bought it) I bought the GOTY but like I say I just couldn't get into it, but I am tempted to pick up just the base game while it's on sale

Witcher 3 is a fantastic game.
I've just completed it again as I bought the GotY version and my save wasn't compatible (2 platinums oO:D).
Enjoyed it just as much as my first playthrough and am now ready for the DLC.
