I am the only person left in my student house and have given it a through clean inside so its actually cleaner then whern I moved in.

Since its the time of year for nice weather there is a bit at the back which is a mess right now(and was when I moved in)

I only have a cheap brush but have brushed a lot of the piles of leaves(which is the main "mess") but the problem is picking it up, if I do it with my hands it means grabbing a handful which will take ages, if I use a dustpan it means taking a small amount and taking ages

I was thinking of a big shovel but is there any other ideas?

EDIT : I know my neighbours like to have stuff like plants at front of the house but dont know about asking them if they had anything.

set your rubbish bag next to the pile, use the dustpan to scoop it up, and into the bag

Am I dreaming or are people really telling a grown man how to put rubbish in a bag?

I'm closing my account.

Must have missed that one.

But really, if this is the calibre of student, the people who are soon to be doing all the 'important' jobs in this country, then I'm glad I'll soon be dead. It's terrifying.

I am actually very intelligent I just like input from others on things, its why I am self critical of stuff like cooking and cleaning etc like for cooking I could follow instructions perfectly and hate what I eat, get someone else to cook it for me even if they are a worse cook and I will like it.
