Paypal have now decided in my favour but yep the scumbag had emptied their account so I get no cash back. well done paypal.

The thieving piece of trash has also been online but hasn't replied to any pm's or the thread so unless any pther people he's scammed come forward then surely the mods should be looking into banning their ip address.

This also serves as a warning into trusting memebers that come on and worm their way into the various cliques etc seemingly being great guys and doing a couple of trades etc. In future i'll probably stick to people i've alredy dealt with on here or the lottery that is ebay.

That's really rubbish, gutted for you. You expect better from people on here, especially with decent number of posts and a few successful trades. He did sound a bit pushy in the sale though just before you got in there and no collections made me wonder. I hope it's a genuine mistake, these things happen sometimes, but if he's a scammer, then he deserves an IP ban like you said and to be reported to paypal if that will make any difference. Hope you get your game/money back somehow.

nah i know already been through paypal and they found in my favour but as he'd already cleared the paypal account I'll get nothing back.

looking back on it he does seem desperate and that should've set the alarm bells going but at least I only got stung for 15 bucks. others ended up worse off than me

Is that all paypal will do, say the account is empty and not help you further? That's pants, so much for the £150 cover they brag about, the amount of money they make especially off ebay you'd think they'd cover you.
Hope you have a nice weekend to make up for it and I guess it's another case of 'you win a few, you lose a few'. Still s**t though.

yeah they say I've no further action to take but they'll keep trying to recover any funds that go into the account but again they can't guarantee anything then give me a link with a load of conditions etc.

yeah cheers mate, its not the end of the world but still 15 bucks is a good few pints lol

Never seemed like the sort..

Hope you get your money or your gear

i think the £150 protection is for ebay transaction only?

Anyway, i believe in situations like this Paypal should give y/our money back.
The fact that the person has no balance in his/her account shouldn't be an excuse as they can charge the person's credit card or bank account.

If he has done that to you (and several others, by the looks of things), why has no-one given him negative feedback to warn everyone else?

Did the person get the 360?? I see thfc andy got his games.

good point on the feedback bu to be honest it doesn't mean a thing and i have been bumping the thread everyday or so. hopefully once the other guys he's ripped off get some sort of resolution the mods will ban his ip address.

and paypal are next to useless in some cases, fed up of paying fees for virtually no service other than to take the p and hold onto your cash.
#11
Quite odd, he sent my games no hassle
#12
so i take it you have tried to phone him to see if there is some sort of problem or something?
#13
Banning his IP address won't stop him coming on

When there's a will there's a way and all that

what problem? the guys a scammer. he's ignored all attempts at contact via email/a paypal claim and even his xbox gamertag which he was on today playing rsv2 incidentally.

and I know your just trying to be smart by seeing if I got his details etc but to be honest what good what it have done to get a phone number although I could then phone him up and shpout dogs abuse at him rather than via email or on msn etc

having said that if i'd bought anything of value then I'd have wanted birth certificates etc lol but for £15 quid what serious good would it have done.

The 150/500 pounds only applies to ebay auctions which meet the terms, outside of that you basically have no protection apart from possibly using your CC company to get the money back.

because havin got his details and checked they were genuine would mean that you would actually be able to do something about it in private rather than badmouth on here.

I seen this happen before (recently) and the person had a crisis but if he's playing rsv2 then its not looking so good

but if you dont follow the rules then dont shout when you get 'done'

wow thats lame! sorry ants

He bumped the thread at least six times before you came on by the looks of it, should've reported it to be locked instead of buying something.

well all getting his details would've done is knowing where the piece of scum is with my 15 quid as I doubt i'm going to travel all the way down to newcastle or start up small claims action for £15.
and to be honest i'll bad mouth a scumbag like that on here until the cows come home as it serves as a warning to others.

he's not having any sort of crisis, he hasn't responded to any pm's after being online, he hasn't responded to any emails or messages via xbox live and more importantly he never responded to a paypal claim which was found in my favour.

i'm not shouting about getting done i'm shouting a warning to anybody elsethinking about doing a deal on here with a supposedly reputable member with good feedback and over a thousand posts.:whistling:

true enough but he wouldn't be the first to do that and he won't be the last.

So don't join in with the rule breaking if you wish it to stop.

I personally don't think he is scamming you, he has made a serious error in letting it go this far though.

You say that getting a phone number would do no good, but, in all honesty, I have never seen anyone get scammed who has followed the guidelines.

It doesn't help anyone(these threads), helping someone would be better served by keeping an eye out and reporting rule breaks, and asking people to be careful before rushing to buy something from a stranger.

It's the same thing all the time, people don't bother, get scammed, start a thread in "Misc".
You're not the 1st, and won't be the last.

yeah yeah hindsight is a wonderful thing etc

how is he not scamming me? that one I can't understand.

It does help, by me and any other person who then posts in misc after being scammed it serves as a warning to others to a follow the rules and b not to trust anyone online no matter how friendly or respected they seem to be.

so if by me posting in here stops one person being scammed again or stops this particluar piece of a scum getting a few quid off somebody else on here futrther down the line then its worth all the you shoulda woulda coulda posts.

It seems strange that he would scam you for £15, when he posted more valuable things off.
I must admit to only skim reading the thread, so apologies if I got that wrong.

You have been around since 2006, so I guess you've seen more of these threads than me.
Yet, you still took no notice.

This thread may stop 1 person, but why not educate the masses, it's your duty. :)
#24
at the time i opened my dispute there was at least 2 others who hadn't recieved anything and before he went silent he twice had claimed to have sent the items making lame excuses etc so i wouldn't believe what he says in the thread.

yep lost count of the amount of threads like this but by highlighting it again hopefully it goes some way to educating the masses and stopping a few who learn from it losing some cash and who knows it may create a few more saint like drones beavering away making this forum a safer and better place to be.
