The list of British holiday ailments identified by Bild include “Prince Harry syndrome”, which it describes as the pathological need to take one’s clothes off in public at every opportunity
.
Other afflictions include “teenage bimbo syndrome” (symptoms include wearing bunny ears) and a nasty skin disease that Bild calls “Anglo-Saxon outbreak”, and which can be identified by blue-green markings on the skin, or tattoos, as they are commonly known.

More serious ailments include “wandering-hand disease” (after three pints, the hand can usually be found alighting on the nearest breast), and a nasty business called “toasting arm”, a syndrome not unlike tennis elbow but caused by lifting too many pints for toasts.

Maybe we wouldn't be like that if only we could get a decent lounger by the pool.

True, although I never holiday in the types of places these people go to.

It's a passing fad, it's not like they're permanent.

In all honestly, we have never ever seen any fellow Brits behaving like this abroad. It obviously depends on where you holiday.

Totally agree, avoid all English bars in Europe!! The Germans are just being honest, with a bit of tongue in cheek.

Well it's true. I'm always embarrassed when I'm abroad when there's drunken idiot Brits shouting like football hooligans in the street, throwing glass bottles everywhere. Makes me cringe.

Most recently the greek islands, Majorca, Tenerife, Egypt, Holland and mainland Europe (when I went backpacking). They're everywhere.

We always take the **** out of the German's and they do have a sense of humour oO

I spent 3 1/2 years in the forces (many years ago) 3 of the years were spent in Germany (lovely place called Detmold) I've never been a drinker (of alcohol) and any squaddie will tell you either you're drinking most nights (mainly in the JR's Club or local bars) or you're one of those loner weirdos. At the end of my "bit for Queen and country" I had more German friends than squaddie mates.

Given the space, given the freedom to understand and give them the knowledge that you are trying to be friendly (speak some German) and they can be the best foreigners you'll ever want to meet. Piggy's Bar just on the outskirts of Detmold was "my local" he knew I wasn't a drinker, he knew only one or 2 glasses of lager (hand pulled. beautifully chilled and that lovely froth sitting for minutes on the top) and then cokes or orange and lemonade the rest of the night finishing off with a large coffee @ 3 or 4 am

The thing is when you go on a AI holiday means all included food and drink included NOT eat and drink as much as you can that goes to all nationality's . I usually go further afield now where you get a better class of yobs

The real problem with " Brits " is they simply cannot manage their drinking, they are simply immature, when it comes to booze.

Yes they think you can't have a good night out without puking in the gutter and getting another tattoo

We have been to Menorca, Egypt (Hurghada, Sharm and Ciaro), Lapland, Amsterdam and Turkey (Side). There were lots of Germans in our hotel in Turkey (the hotel was beautiful), and lots in Egypt. I can honestly say we have had more 'problems' with Germans. Ive only once seen a football wearing drunk Brit and that was in Menorca.

I'm off to Hurghada in November for my honeymoon so will keep my eyes peeled.

My plan is to beat the Germans at their own game and get to the pool before they do! :D

Our hotel had pools around every few rooms/bungalows so there was no problems with that. I hope you have a great time. Our hotel was lovely but the food was awful. Came back slimmer than we went! Theres a first time for everything! :3

BTW, many congrats on getting wed, we've just had our 14th anniversary. Marrying my husband was the best thing I have ever done (that and having our daughter!) I hope you have a very long and happy marriage together xxx

Wedding was last month and was amazing. Literally perfect! Even my dad was impressed and that's pretty much unheard of haha :)

It was Game of Thrones themed, so we had normal wedding dress for the ceremony and the meal, and then everyone got changed into GoT gear in the evening. The whole room got kitted out with medieval gear like suits of armour and huge candelabras and we even had a fire performer haha :)

OMG that sounds fantastic! I bet the photos are anazing. We didn't have anything when we got married, honestly it was so basic. I don't regret it though as the most important bit is getting the right person, and that I did! Im sure you will have a lovely time in Hurghada. When we went there were riots on so we couldn't go to Vally of the Kings. Shame as thats one reason why we booked up.

Yeah we came accross a fair few Russians on our last holiday & know exactly what you mean. They loved the slop that was being served up, made me sick just looking at it. (It seemed that only the Brits thought the food was awful at the last hotel we stayed in).

That will be because they think that fried bread and burgers are good food.

The ones in our hotel in Sharm took great delight in piling their plates as high as they could get, having a little of it and then getting another full plate just to waste all the food. Pushed to the front all the time in any queues and treated the staff like slaves. Luckily they were all blind drunk by the middle of the afternoon for the first few days so a lot of them got sunburnt and spent their last few days in bed :)

The tattoo comment is so true, awful

Why?

At least I can rest easy knowing that in a few years when the chavs have decided their tattoos are awful, that they won't expect the NHS to pay to have them expensively removed.

Never had a problem with Germans on holiday (Benidorm, Turkey, Barcelona, Amsterdam) but the Russians are a different kettle of fish! They are rude, don't understand the British pasttime of queueing and treat anyone who isn't Russian like dirt, staff or holidaymaker...........;)
