I did, I had growth scans every week to monitor, and was told really not to worry, was told they would induce early if they were concerned at all, but she was nearly 2 weeks late and only 7lb 3oz, so try not too worry too much

oh thats good news. where u on insulin or diet controlled?

They might be able to give you a list at hospital of foods to avoid,I know carbs turns to sugar so probably only have carbs that are good for you,and cut back on bread.

I was diet controlled and it really wasn't too hard, though I did slip towards the end when I craved custard donuts! had it with my son too 17yrs ago and similar then, my friend had her little boy 3 weeks ago and was induced at 36 weeks, due to the same problem and all is well:thumbsup:

hehe custard doghnuts!! o yeah u went through a real hungry phase before baby!

ok so ur friend was induced...why was that. did her baby get too big. at 36 weeks they give baby steroid in womb dont they so the lungs are mature. does that mean baby stays in hospital for a week?

i struggle to open them properly but i can do it somewhat.... but i been advise to give birth hanging onto the bed head rest and not on my back....which im ded worried about as i like to zonk out on gas and air and not have to worry about holding onto beds etc...was so out of it last time i almost fell off the bed! someone said water birth..... but im not sure.

2 reasons, her blood pressure was rising and the baby was gaining weight, but to be fair she wasn't following her diet very well at all, he did receive an injection to mature lungs and they were allowed home after 2 days:thumbsup:

my mum had it whilst pregnant with all 4 of us. Each one of us was heavier than the last but nothing to write home about. I was the first and lightest and 7lb 7oz , my brothers were 8lb 2oz and 8lb 7oz and my sister was 9lb 2oz. They obviously monitored more than an average pregnancy but all was well.
You'll be fine mb, here have a hug and some rep hun xx

Hiya, I never had gestational diabetes and I had a scan at 36 weeks. None of it stopped me having an 11lb 81/2 oz baby. I had him naturally with only gas and air. All of mine have been big with the smallest being 8lb 12oz.
Trust me when I tell you size doesn't matter. Oh and they never picked up on his size at the scan, he was due to be maximum 10lb born at 2 weeks overdue.
They can be wrong...
I'm sure everything will be fine and try and enjoy your pregnancy xx

No stitches and no tear. I had a couple of stitches with my first only. I put it all down to hypnobirthing and a water birth...really is fantastic. You just need to relax and trust your body...., not even gas and air with DD. He also had his hand on his face to make it diffficult.
I've no idea why he was big. I'm not huge 5ft 8 and size 16. Oh is 6ft 2in. We just have big babies.
I was only 39 cm at 42 weeks too, smaller than with my other 2.
I've heard so many stories about scans not being accurate that I really do not trust them I had it at 36 weeks to check the placenta had moved but they measured him aswell.
He is just a big baby 20lb now at 15 week and just about to grow out of his 6 - 9 month clothes. How far gone are you? If you want more info on hypnobirthing I'll happily point you in the right direction

fab ...thaks for replying with so much detail. someone recommended a water birth as i have SPD so struggle with pelvis pains. i have relatively quick labours and tried hypnotherapy for weight loss before...which didnt work so i think i will leave the hypnobirthing bit..thanks though. wow so u measured small and defo have no reason for big babies.... well main thing is u didnt even tear or stiches, so u cant say anything really....just the luck of the draw on the day!

cute ur baby is only little.... awww!! ur gonna have a fab xmas with the new addition!

aww hun i was tested for it .... i had to go and have bloods taken, then have a drink , do nothing for 2 hours and have bloods taken again.. is that right? I know one thing the midwife told me is if i did have it they may want to induced me early as they wont want baby getting to big x
