If you are delayed by more than 15 mins on the London Underground you are entitled to get a refund on your fare. Previously you had to fill it out on paper and send it off which I never bothered to do. Now its online and very easy to complete. I'm sure some people already knew this but I only found out recently and didn't see it on the forum...

Also I have a oyster ticket, however the refund is the equivalent cash fare (in vouchers). Therefore if you are delayed once every 2 weeks you will get about £6 back a month. This week though I have been delayed 4 times already so thats £12 I have got due back in one week, thanks to the picadilly and jubilee lines!

So fill out a simple form and you could save pounds every month!

Nice spot. Shame you can't claim back money because of what in actuality is dangerous overcrowding.

But they say u can claim back for reasons other then what wasout of their control. So that rules pretty much allot out, doesnt it?

This is simply the customer charter... all rail companies have one of these! ! ! Don't see how this is a deal, it is advertised by leaflets at every single tube stn, and this has been the case for years..

are you going to make a post about every single TOC having a customer charter ???

This is a good way of getting some of your money back. Last year I claimed well over £250. I got the feeling they didn't check any of my claims. As mentioned by the OP, they refund you the cost of a single paper ticket. I have an Oystercard and it costs me £2.50 per single journey. If I am delayed, they refund me £4.
A word of advice: if you have an Oystercard, don't claim for any journeys you haven't made or got delayed as they can check your journey details.

Moved to misc as its not really a deal

Thanks for the positive comments - it might not be a deal but its a way of saving money. I know its part of the customer charter but hey I didn't know about it. I know others didn't as well.

Thought I would post it under deals as its a way of helping people save money.

Good timing, was held up between stations on the jubilee line last night for 2 hours. Even had to walk back to the station along the tunnel. If enough people make them pay for their incompetance, maybe they'll do something about it?

You can definetely claim for that delay. Given the delay was 2 hours, might be worth trying to claim more than the cost of a single ticket.

Heh, just bumping this for anyone who got held up at Kennington on the way to Clapham Common last night... there were quite a few thousand of us I'd imagine. :giggle:
