Geting Rabbit's Nails Cut

My Dad went in to take the rabbit into the vets last week to get his nails cut,

they weighed him then cut his nails which took about 2 minutes............... £9!!

We started to get curious after watching this Undercover Pets on ITV about wether we have been overcharged or not?

Anyone who has been in to take their rabbits in to get their nails cut, how much was it?

The scales are in the waiting room, so it was even before he got into see the vet.

My dad put him on the scales and the receptionist took the weight, they weigh him just for the records to moniter it.

I paid £7 to have my rabbits teeth cut, which only took a few minutes, too but I thought that ws reasonable as I was expecting to get charged some consultation fee or something

Why do you have to put that and always be so negative in my thread, did i say was feeling scared becuase of the price or that i was worried or anxious?

I have bought proper rabbit nail clippers and cut ours myself. As house bunnies they need cutting every few weeks and theres no way I have the time or money to take them to the vets every few weeks.

Borolad, £9 is just for the nail trim, the weighing is free, and is basically put on the records so it can be monitored the next time your in.
£9 does seem a lot, but unfortunaly vets can charge it, because people will pay it, i would never recommend cutting a rabbits claws if you don't know what your doing, they have a very long quick and if you cut this, then you will have one bloody carpet! Fortunatly as a trained professional (LOL) my rabbits nails are white so this also helps the situation. :)

In red = I already knew that but thank you for confirming.
In blue = That's just what they said in that ITV show
In green = That was the parents problem, they thought if i cut it and did it wrong the bleeding would never stop.
In yellow = My rabbit's nail's are white, just VERY long
In pink = Thank you it does.

I don't know about rabbits but my cats claws cost £10 to have done. I have clippers to do it myself but she wriggles so much I fear I could hurt her. If i'm lucky I get one paw done lol
