Ive been trying to get a pac code from vodaphone for the past month or so and they will not give me one, anyone else had problems getting one from vodaphone?

I'm thinking of complaining (i never complain) but I feel that just complaining typo customer services would not do anything, who should I complain to?

Thanks for any help given :)

I always complain to the CEO, and, if details available, Chief of Ops, Chief of Staff etc. Gets me results every single time!

Have they told you why? or are they just not coming up with the goods? They are obliged under the terms of their licensing.

Are you out of contract ?

That's about the only time they won't issue you with a pac, you have to pay off the contract first.
If you are out, then there's no reason why they shouldn't...

I requested one from them on the phone and it didn't turn up so I emailed them complaining. It turn up within the hour with an apology.

Good God... I had an absolute nightmare getting a PAC from VodaPony a while back. Every time I rang I was told how sorry they were and it would be sent within 24 hours. They also stated that requests had to be processed and sent from another dept, these requests never got to the other dept, the PAC never got sent to me... The story goes on and on.

I was more than a little bit narked by the CS as a whole and they probably knew it... What I would advise is to log into the Voda forums and state your situation. You tend to get a bit more joy from there than by ringing or emailing. Emailing CS got me absolutely nowhere. The forum folk were by far the better option.

The reason I wanted a PAC was that I'd been overcharged for months and the Voda systems wouldn't let me access my bills to check. I'd phoned them countless times to find out why... Guess what... No help at all. Forum people sorted this as well. When I'd got access to my bills again I rang to complain and they basically said tough luck buster. Hence the PAC request.

In fact the forums sorted out my PAC and got me some "free" months. I say free, more prepaid I suppose. As such I'm still with them, but will be looking at getting a PAC again when my paid up months run out. I'll not be ringing or emailing this time though. Forums... The only thing about Voda that I can say I have any respect for!

I might go to Ofcom, thats what my Dad advises, or would you suggest the higher ups in the company as best way?

Well I have tried about 10 times in the past month to get a code. The excuses they have given to date are:

I had to make a "chargable call"

My phone number isn't real (WTF?)

I have to wait a month to get a PAC code (No you don't)

I needed to "register my number" by text

I needed to "register my number" by phone (seperate call)

My SIM card is "Dormant" (has never been used and doesn't exist)

never seen it before - I will put you through to customer services, porting line, technical help (basically just moving me on to someone else)
It's terrible, I have to say that I believe that it's the Vodaphone computer problems to be my problem and not the customer support workers, but still it's absolutely appaling service - they have said that they will pass it on to technical support and will give me a call on my other number but never have done

It's a pay as you go sim mate, I was with T-Mobile on Pay As You Go but got a T-Mobile Contract and for some reason you aren't allowed to port a number to the same company (WTF?) so I went from T-Mobile to Vodaphone and hoping to move from Vodaphone back to T-Mobile, but I have had this problem for over a month.

Like I said earlier I think it's the computers hating me or hating my SIM card:?

That's great, I might try the Vodaphone forums then, see what will happen and what they could do to help, I have a feeling that they will not be able to sort it out whatever the problem is, but everything's worth a try at this stage.

Needless to say I will never return to Vodaphone for all the free calls, minutes and data they can shove down my throat.

If they give me a free phone I'll take it though

I got mine quite quickly. When it came to reneweing my contract (been with them for 3 years) they had the nerve to offer me WORSE deals than they were offering new customers. I gave the guy on the phone a piece of my mind, at the end of the conversation we were both agreed that getting my PAC ASAP was the way to go.

I agree with the above comments, post on their forum and they'll soon comply. They try not to look like total douches on their public forums.

Heheh... The silly beggars just phoned me to upgrade. I said no ta, but while you're on can you arrange a PAC code (my payback months have run out yesterday it seems... Bah). He said I could have a Legend for £20 a month as a valued long standing VodaDonkey customer, so I asked him if it came with a PAC code. He said no. I said jsut the PAC then, ta!

Bloomin' idiots!!!

Typical phone company "they are wanting to leave us so lets try and get them to be tied in to a 2 year contract with the same rubbish service, eh?"
