getting a replacement handset from orange

further to my earlier thread has anyone had any experience of getting a replacement handset from orange?

I bought a san fransisco from argos today and it is faulty, should i take it back there and wait for them to get a replacment or should i contact orange direct? what would be quickest?

I think you would need to go argos for replacement becuase argos sold it to you

You know what to do, you even stated it in your other thread, just take it back to argos.

why obviously? if you check on the orange website there is a section about what to do if you think your phone is faulty and they state that they will send a replacement, argos told me that they do not offer a 30 day guarantee on phones but if it is faulty they will just send the phone back to orange for a replacement, so surely by going direct to orange i will be saving time? and if your going to give a sarcy reply at least learn to spell

Which word did I misspell?

Anyway, it's entirely obvious. Comsumer rights in the UK dictate that if there's a problem, it's the retailer with whom you have the contract, so it's to Argos that you go for a return, regardless of any of their instore policies.

If you not going to listen to the advice given of going back to Argos why ask the question in the first place?

I am listening, just asking a simple question, thought someone in the same position may managed to return direct to orange, if not then it'll go back to argos :{

As Orange is the manufacturer.. well, they're not really... but as it's their name on the phone, you might as well try your luck at getting them to deal with the problem. If you had a Sony TV and it broke, you'd expect Sony to be able to provide your with a replacement/repair - so why not for an "Orange" phone?

I needed a replacement San Francisco and it was a pain getting my point across to the Indian call center but in the end I got through to someone based in the UK and they sorted it out within 2 minutes (literally!)

1st rule of shopping club- you do not talk about shopping club!
2nd rule of shopping club- you DO NOT talk about shopping club!

3rd rule of shopping club- you take the faulty item back into the shop from where purchased and scream and shout like a nutter until you receive either your money back or a suitable replacement!

disagree with the screaming and shouting bit lol as i work on customer services and refuse to help people who shout at me - on topic - take it back to argos as said above its the retailer you have the contract with when you purchase a product not the manufacturer also they cannot refuse to refund or replace it as it is faulty and under your statutory rights you are entitled to a full refund if an item is faulty within 1 year of purchase anyway regardless of their individual instore policies - which someone above mentioned!
