Hi guys,

I would like to configure my BIOS to maximise my PC and was wondering if anyone had any tips to get everything running well.

I have updated my motherboard to version 1.10 with the bios update and am looking for tips to optimize it further. Most of the settings are on default, I have only changed memory speed to 333mhz and primary graphics card to PCI Express.

http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=2Core1333-2.66G here is the link to the motherboard bundle, I have downloaded the sound and network drivers etc just need some BIOS advice.

Thanks people

I think you need to google overclocking for beginners.

I'm not entirely sure about Overclocking as my CPU came factory overclocked can I really get much more performance out of it Intel E2140?. Ideally I am looking just to optimize settings within the Bios from the default ones to ones that will increase performance. Thanks:thumbsup:

Not tying to be patronising, but if you have to ask this question on a moneysaving forum, I would say, leave all that stuff alone. You can really screw up the stability of your machine by changing BIOS settings if you aren't 100% certain what you are up to.

Well there are a lot of knowledgeable people in these forums on all subjects and I have been helped out a few times this week by some kind computer buffs regarding a few issues that I had. You are right though I think as its my first build I will leave all that stuff alone. Thanks

Thanks for taking the advice in the right way :-)

A lower risk way of optimising your system is via software. Never use any of the driver CDs that come with your motherboard or Graphics card e.t.c. Always download the newest versions from the web. Graphics drivers are often optimised between releases, so this can have a noticeable improvement in games.

There's generally not much you can change from default settings that'll make it much better.
