Giant african land snail help please
I remember a few peeps on here saying they have them.
Is my son's snail dead? It has sealed itself into its shell and I cannot get it to come out. The other one was semi sealed but when I gave it a warm bath it came out and is eating, I have tried the same with other to no avail. We have had them for over two years and they have never done this before.
I can't bear to tell him his snail has died as his hamster has been "hibernating" for 3 years! I don't think I buy one as big as this to replace it.
Do I need to arrange or funeral or is it something else

If placed in tepid
water, this membrane dissolves and the
snail becomes active once again. Of
course, if the snail is indeed dead, no
such activity on warming is observed.
Just trying this now
We have 2 snails which were kept in two tanks (after egg laying spree)!!) One of them sealed itself up a few weeks ago and we thought it had died. We cleaned out both tanks so had to lift both snails out and put them in a plastic box together while tanks were being washed...........don't know if it was the movement or what that stirred it but it broke it's seal and the other snail scoffed the seal....they now live together again in one tank and seem fine! Not sure if this will help you but just thought I'd let you know.
just coz you used to eat them!!! :p
im sure he will be fine!! tho i did larf at the hamster!! (bad me!! :x)

Ahh thats good to know as they have never done this before but I forgot to feed them
Yep, low maintenance and I thought, long living pets
