Can anyone think of a gift I could buy my wife? I plan to give it to her after she's given birth to our first baby in a few weeks time!!

I was thinking of an eternity ring or something like that but I'm just not sure......

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That would be a lovely idea. Our first wedding anniversary followed about 2/3 weeks after I gave birth to our first child and my husband bought me an eternity ring. It was a lovely surprise for me as I am sure it will be for her. It is something personal and a lovely way to mark such a wonderful occasion. Wishing you all the best at this exciting time. Good Luck, Lliz

a body massage???
if it weren't your first baby i would have suggested a cpl of days in a spa hotel but she won't want to leave the baby so early so maybe a day in a spa...
eternity ring is nice idea tho

sorry forgot to say all the very best x

i'd have been made up if my husband had bought me an eternity ring after the birth of our children. perfect gift. x

Thanks Liz......the only problem I have with an eternity ring is that her wedding and engagement ring are both platinum, so I'll probably have to go for platinum eternity ring too!

Although, maybe this is a time for those Tesco clubcard vouchers to have some use,,,,,Goldsmiths here I come!!

Cant fault an eternity ring, absolutely perfect, and for the second child a pair of diamond earings, absolutely pretty perfect, you sound like a very thoughtful husband, well done to you both xxxxx

The eternity ring idea is lovely but it sort of depends on her other rings as well, in terms of --- will all three fit on her finger OK? Often, eternity rings have quite big settings and if the engagement ring has as well, it could be a problem.(Eternity rings are often worn instead of engagement/wedding rings which don't fit on any more.) Just saying so that you can somehow check before going ahead.
Congratulations. Good luck. x

I did think of that (a bit)! Should an eternity ring be worn on the same finger as a wedding/engagement ring? :?

an eternity ring is tradition (obviolsy doesnt work if not married ha ha). so sweet that you wanna get her something ive got bits for the baby and the other half but he wont get me anything (i know him too well)

mabe pay for her to have some form of pampering such as hair cut or pedicure. something to make her feel nice.

yeah eternity rings should be worn on the same finger and like when you got wedding ring had to be the same carrot so as not to rub away at eachother you must get same carrot again for the eternity ring.

I hoped that wouldn't be the case...platinum wedding and engagament rings, this might end up costing me a good few quid! Never mind, its all well worth it! Love your avatar by the way :-D

Definitely yes, although it can just be worn for special occasions rather than all the time like the other two. If your lady has nice long fingers, it won't be a problem.

( info:There are differing opinions on when an eternity ring should be bought. We of the older generation tend to 25th anniversary, younger ladies say after one year or first baby!!)

No shame in that at all. Very sensible to my way of thinking.
True as regards generations.

I never got one after the first year of marriage or first bambino, so it looks like I have a while to wait... :whistling: :giggle:

I think it's a lovely idea though OP and loads of love & luck to you and your wife xx

Lovely idea, just make sure it'll be something she will like. My father bought my mother a £2k seed pearl necklace to celebrate my brother's birth and 25 years later she still hates (and never wears) it - and he is still none the wiser, bless her.

The eternity ring for my birth was a massive hit as they went and chose it together. On her wedding finger it goes wedding ring on first, then engagement ring and then eternity ring. The 3 rings are not too fat so fit and look lovely together.

Good luck with the little baby!

An Eternity ring is a lovely idea. I've been hinting for years and after four children have given up hope of getting one ! :-D
