I am a real choc-o-holic so from today onwards i have been challenged to give up chocolate for one year!

I was kinda hoping to use this site as my diary sorta cos im always on here and that way i will feel too guilty to break the challenge as everyone here will see if i fail!

OMG - no chocolate for a whole year! :w00t:

Good luck, but why don't you try a week at a time rather than year?
#2
thats chocolate suicide there for ya, youll go crazy, i couldn't last a month never mind a year without chocolate although i would probely lose a huge amount of weight lol, how about just having less you'll enjoy it more, a bit like the saying in the catering industry "less is more"
#3
no no cos if i stick it out then im gettin a trip to prague for a week all expenses paid lol!

and it will be one week at a time lol

and worst part of the deal is i cant substitute with crisps/biscuits etc as i dont each much off them!
#4
Good luck then, keep us up to date as to how it goes, you have a good "carrot" in the trip to Prague, actually there's a thought - you could always o/d on carrots in place of the chocolate!
#5
"One day at a time, sweet Jesus" well, that's how us alkys do it  Do cacao nibbs count? :-D
#6
cacao nibbs- what are these?

carrots dont have the same taste :(
#7
well you can have sweets instead they arent chocolate :-D if your gonna stick to the challenge
#8
I gave up choc crsps and sweets 7 years ago and havent had any since.. the weight dropped of for the first year but then I got other bad foods instead. so now I eat really healthily across the board

giving up isnt the way eating a balanced diet is
#9
Does this include chocolate on things like biscuits, or just bars of chocolate???
#10
Are all chocolate-related products included - ice cream with choc bits in it, choc flavour cakes, etc?

You should get some sponsership going or something!

And save up your chocolate money so you can treat yourself at the end of it, or have a fat old munch :-D

Would that not be like giving up smoking except cigars? Or no pornography unless it's homosexual?
#13
Giving up chocolate would turn me to smoking..............No I do that already...

i know that i need to reduce the other bad foods but this is my number 1 junk food so if i can give this up then the rest shall follow. i eat kinda healthly just sometimes indulge apart from too much chocolate.

!st step to getting fit again for this football season in july :) cos i havent been properly fit since i hurt my knee 2 years ago lol

Cacao nibs are - What is Cacao?

Cacao is the seed of a fruit of an Amazonian tree that was brought to Central America during or before the time of the Olmecs. Cacao beans were so revered by the Mayans and Aztecs that they used them as money!

In 1753 Carl von Linnaeus, the 18th-century Swedish scientist, thought that cacao was so important that he named the genus and species of this tree himself. He named this tree: Theobroma cacao, which literally means “cacao, the food of the gods.”

Cacao beans contain no sugar and between 12% and 50% fat depending on variety and growth conditions. Our cacao beans contain around 40% fat content (low compared to other nuts). There is no evidence to implicate cacao bean consumption with obesity.

I should also say,if you start to juice fresh organic carrots you will not believe how sweet it tastes if you have never tried it before. Shop bought juices, smoothies etc. don't count, not a patch on the real deal. You can do anything that you put your mind to,anything

thank you for the motivation. Hmm never had carrots juiced may try that, we usually just stick to fruit in our homemade smoothies.
