If you like Thai food, and you have a bit of money (well worth it in my opinion) go to the Thai Fountain restaurant. Best Thai place I've ever eaten at. Would go to Glasgow just for a meal, if I didn't live on the Isle of Wight.

Depends what kind of stuff you are into, but there is certainly plenty to do in Glasgow. Where about's are you staying?

Just south of the Clyde.

Going to have a trip to the SECC later to take some photos. Heard the Art Museum is free etc

Hi Browni, I would recommend taking some pics around the Science Centre, the Armadillo and then make your way up through some of the city centre taking in Buchanan Street, Sauchiehall Street, George Square as there's lots of interesting architecture around there. The Merchant City is also worth a look if you get the chance. I'd definitely recommend the Gallery Of Modern Art (GOMA) even just for the building itself if you're not really into Modern Art, it used to be and old library years ago. Also the Kelvingrove Museum and Art Galleries are worth a visit in the West End as is the Transport Museum across the road. You can also get some great views from there of the Gilbert Scott Building which is the main building of Glasgow University. If you can get a tour of the City Chambers then do it, the exterior is really nice, but the interior is fantastic!

Lots of good places to eat, anything in particular you like in terms of food? Let me know and I'll recommend a couple of options.

PS Look forward to seeing some of your photos on the Photo Thread when you get a chance!

Some very good pubs to go to at night including Blackfriars on Bell Street (great selection of beers), Republic Beir Halle on Gordon Street, West Brewing Company (micro-brewery place) out at Templeton Business Centre, probably better getting a taxi there (few quid each way from town) as it's a bit of a trek. Also places like Bar Ten and The Lab just off Sauchiehall Street which are pretty good and Bar Soba for the cocktail crowd. Most pubs should have a live music guide (Blackfriars always have them) for all the pubs/venues in town if you fancy something like that.

Nice one

Going to get a shower, then take the camera out.

Won't be eating out. I've got the meal paid for in Hotel by the company, so may as well eat for free.

Doubt I'll be going for a few either, got to set off back early in the morning. Back to work (no rest for the wicked).

Thanks for all the hints though, I'll take note and try to somehow navigate myself around.

Exactly what I was going to say, it's next to the main entrance to Central Station, great pub - bit pricey tho.....
