Get a doctor to do it
#2
whatever you do, dont call 999 - make an appointment at the doctors surgery or something.
#3
shut phoned the hosp and its 3hr wait at the mo :(
#4
have you tried soaking a hot bath?
Should loosen up the skin and allow you to remove it, if you can't - seek medical help.

Maybe try using a sterlised needle, that's what i do with splinters..
#6
CHOP YOUR FOOT OFF!! its the only way.
#7
OOOh That hurts. I did that.

I use nail clippers to open up the hole to get access.

Need to be VERY careful here. Prodding such a sharpobject WILL push it further into foot.

If you have the courage you need to dig UNDER (below) the shard and lift it up and out. Hope you have a good pain threshold, though.

Great sense of acheivement awaits you. Good luck.:)

Not all of us can just heal straight away you know. :whistling:

LMFAO

Thinking your going to need to dig some of your skin away, this has happened to me before tis not to painful

cheerleader is rght, first soak it in hotwater for sometime so skin loosen then try a sterlized needle after cleaning an antiseptic.

Sterilise a razor blade and make the holw slightly bigger and use the blade or tweesrs to slip it out

If you can't bear to do it then go to hospital and wait. I couldn't get a splinter out my son's hand some while back so I tolok him along, they got magnifiers etc and maybe see more than you can see yourself.
If it does need cutting out, they can just numb it and get it out that way if not too deep. They then seal the skin by like burning it maybe, thats what they did with my cyst near my ear,I just had it removed down at the GP's in the nurses room.
Just make sure you get it dealt with it cos it keep hurting as you walk about etc

Have you tried phoning the doctor's? The practice nurse (if they have one) should be able to see you straight away.
#13
you'll prob get it sorted by the triage nurse which means the 3 hrs wait isnt 3 hrs!
Worth a try - the later you go the longer the wait
#14
ha cut it out (hurta little) with some nail clippers..... it feels so much better now :-)
#15
Make sure you clean the wound & area thoroughly, then cover the wound to prevent any nasty bits getting in to it:thumbsup:

Don't forget to write a wiki page on how you did it to.

I've always wanted to be the first to write a wiki page. But everything is on there.

This happened to my 4 year old a couple of months ago. made appointment at the doctors he sent us straght up th A and E at the local hosptal ,they x-rayed it then carefully removed it, very skillfully, even for a doctor. It took up most of the day, but what a relief, it was worth the time. Personally speakng if i was you i would get straight up there

"Very skillfully, even for a doctor?"

You'd imagine doctors would be the most skilled at this sort of thing lol
