Going away in aug? Best to wait for a late deal?

Me and the gf want to go away in aug, i have found a nice hotel in gran canaria, flying with ryanair but the flight prices seem to be going up daily.

I worked it out with a hire car for the week, its about £320 each.

Now would it be better to wait till a couple of weeks before we want to go and get a late deal? As a package?

I got a return flight to Gran Canaria for £29.98 all in but that was in January. Do you have to go away in August ? If you want to go to the Canary Islands the autumn / winter would be better as it's an all year round climate. Just a thought

EDIT - answering your question - Late deals are not so good these days as they used to be so don't bank on it being any cheaper :)
Are you asking whether to delay booking with Ryanair? If so the answer is definitely no - the prices will rise.

edit - book now and get what you actually want; I think there have been a lot less late deals available last year and this.
Have you tried alpharooms they are also on Quidco .Also you could book at very last minute day before and pick your tickets up from the airport we have done this before with no problems.
there will be late deals for sure if you arent bothered where you go,but somewhere specific is risky to wait.
Thanks for the replies guys. I know ryanair prices will keep on going up, i meant if i leave it late for a proper package deal not a diy one.

I have to go in aug, bank holiday weekend too. GF works in a nursery, and was basically told you can have this week off and thats it.

Cant even get a week off in sept!
