WOW! You're braver than I am. I'd be sh*tting myself! I'd never do that. I hate that freefall feeling, even a rollercoaster makes my stomach flip! Hope you have a blast and come back to earth safely!

As long as its duck tape ('cos ducks can fly you know!), you should be fine.

1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 check canopy!!!!

Was more worried about not getting a lift up to the sky diving :)

If its aeronautical tape, its like sticky backed aluminium... great for fixing holes in exhausts

Good luck for the jump, any reason? charity or anything?

Charity.

Good luck mate, I used to be a lot more daring until I almost poo'd myself thinking I might not have full access to my hand after the op didn't go according to plan.....saying that.....diving out of a plane is probably safer than crossing a road. :p

.....Just make sure you haven't mixed up the parachute bag with another backpack. :whistling:

:giggle:

Try www.buyagift.co.uk who have a 20% voucher code (123123 I believe that still works but there's other 20% vouchers too) and 12% Quidco cashback too makes it fantastic value.

I prefer the reaction from gooners when you say 4-2 and you messed it up! (Ok perhaps in a stronger term!)

How dare you.......I'll kill you :x
Do you mean a reaction like that? :giggle:

I don't mind, especially when you look at the direction of the table that our beloved north London clubs are at the mo and forever will be. :-D

By the way.....have you heard the Lasagne song? :whistling:

Well done mate!!! Your going to really enjoy it!!! Make sure you don't become addicted to it like I did. 167 Jumps later and I'm still loving it. (But I am now very very poor)

Best advice, when you get up there don't think about what your about to do, just go with it!!! Enjoy the blue skies mate!!!

I only look at the current form table. Everything else is so yesterday!

Not too much alcohol tonight. You will want a clear head tomorrow. Just keep your hands away from your harness release.
Massive adrenaline attack to come. Enjoy.

That would be great advice if he was doing static, most charity jumps are tandem. So rock out baby! You've got nothing to worry about!! But seriously, save the alcohol till after the jump, it tastes soooo much better! :-D
#23
How did it go?
#24
It went great (wonderful feeling), second static jump had a total malfunction and had to use reserve which proceeded to have tangles and end closure (managed to safely land, although one field over from target )

Oooh. That sounded like my third jump! The chute only partially opened into whats best descibed as a ballon. Obviously everything happens so quickly - but I can remember just laughing at it. (No - it wasnt because "i'm 'ard" or because it was funny - just a nervous laugh as in - oh well - "so long and thanks for all the fish!" A few seconds later it just went "bang" - air forced the chute to open and I was sent on a fast merry-go-round spin untangleing the strings.

As strange as it sounds - it made me more determined to carry on!

So are you hooked - or is that your time? One thing I think I can safely say - I bet you are as pleased as punch you've done it?:)
#26
So what did you do? A tandem and a static or 2 x statics.

I submitted to peer pressure when I did mine donkeys ages ago. Did 8 but could never beat the fear. Did you have to get out and hold the wing or push off from the door?

Well Done - Nothing would have made me do a second one on the first day.
#27
I am not sure yet if I am hooked (when I think about it I still feel excited). It was two statics (the second one was deemed faulty in the debrief (glad it wasn't my procedure). I am well chuffed (jumped with friends, one screamed all the way down..........then said it was brilliant).
#28
Dont think I would be here if I chutes had not opened correctly each time. Too much fear for the jump. I was ok as soon as I felt the tug of the chute and then loved it. Forgot to count and check several times and decided it was probably not for me.
Had a pit landing once though. Had one friend who landed in a pigsty and another who badly damaged an ankle on landing.

Not sure if I would have enjoyed a tandem jump. They didnt do these when I went. Never got off the dope rope.

Go with God my friend....................:p
