You need to produce a form of photographic id e.g. a passport, driving licence etc.

depending who you're flying with will want photographic ID (as already mentioned) but you don't need a passport as it's within the UK.

Think its the same as IOM. Hubby took his picture part of the driving licence with him.

Thanks for your help- just wondered because the Ryanair site says you can't use a driving licence it must be a passport or id card - anyone confirm if they have used drivers licence ok before?

The rules have changed, you do need a passport or ID card now. Nothing to do with border control just security.

Ryanair will not let you on without passport, knew someone off to scotland for the weekend with drivers licence.......got a frantic call to get to the airport with their passport or they couln't fly.......Ryanair policy now for uk. I think some foreign eucountries can use identity cards for some flights, but not for u.k. citizens.

You don't need a passport, but as others have said, it is entirely at the discretion of the airline. Best to check with them.

My brother wasn't allowed to fly from Prestwick to Stanstead because he didn't have his passport. You read yourself that it is stated on their website so you got it straight from the horses mouth.

Ryanair's policy for United Kingdom and Ireland residents traveling on internal UK & ROI flights is that you can use a passport or a photographic driving license.

I remember someone being held up due to the fact that they only had photographic ID not a passport (inter UK flight). After some consultation they let him on.
