Going to Brussels, any suggestions of where to go, what to do

Hi all, I am going to Brussels on Thursday to watch the athletics on Friday, will be coming back to London on Saturday afternoon.

Any good suggestions of what to do/see etc. Or where to stock up on any duty free.

Also have been told that I can travel anywhere on the Metro with my Eurostar ticket for 24 hours - is that correct?

Thanks in advance

i went to the atomium for lunch, was really nice! :) we went to it by going on a bus tour...!
i can't remember much about the metro ticket but all we done was buy one at the train station for all 3 days, pretty cheap.

Yep, the Atomium is a must. As far as I can remember, there is a model village you can visit too.

They could have made the Atomium in the shape of these.

a lego one? or something like that
it's right near the atomium as you can see it clearly from it... it's like miniature versions of significant buildings.
