Sherlock Holmes was really good as a film, and an action film to that. However, a few of the explosions and that did not look realistic, and as a historical point of view its rubbish.

Yet to see avatar as i missed it showing near me in 3D.

not seen Sherlock Holmes.

I enjoyed Avatar and saw it in 3D though tbh the 3D made me feel a bit sick so I watched it in blurry instead

A thoroughly enjoyable romp and I wouldn't worry about historical inaccuracies either

Where did you buy the Blu-ray?

I think they meant they took off the 3d glasses not blue ray

Same, but for some people they might be expecting it, such as him being a kick ass fighter!

Sherlock is a really good film, Downey Junior is excellent. Really enjoyed it.

but......

Avatar in 3D is meant to be astounding and so if you going to the big screen I would choose Avatar

Having watch Sherlock Holmes I was a little suprised to See RDJ pick up a Golden Globe for 'Best Comedy Actor' (or something along those lines), as I have to admit I didn;t think Serlock was a comedy as such..?

I saw Sherlock Holmes on Tuesday night, and Avatar 3D last night.

You really can't go wrong. Sherlock Holmes is great fun, and manages to strike a fantastic balance between action, humour and all round entertainment.

That said, Avatar in 3D is just breathtakingly stunning. I honestly wasn't expecting a lot from it, but I was completely sucked in after the first 20 minutes. A truly outstanding film visually, and personally the visual style coupled with the imaginative world just completely immersed me. I saw it with my girlfriend, who normally doesn't like action films, and we both loved it. Just go and see it and some point, even if it isn't tonight.
