Morning All,

Does anyone know the best place i can get some left handed golf clubs with an extension (about 2 inches).

I currently have a set which i bought from sports world, but its not worth getting them extended.

I'm not looking to spend too much (£200ish max)

Rep for any help or advice.

Thanks

Try american golf in shirley.

I use them a lot and bought my current nike clubs from there.

Richard is the pro mgr and is really helpful.

The SportsHQ do a range of clubs called Forgan which can be custom fitted....

nevada bobs?! they have a good fitting system, be prepared to up your budget though, 200 for custom clubs is a bit low.

Out of interest who told you that you need 2 inch extension? how tall are you?

I got my lefties from American golf, I'm 6ft 5 and cope ok with them

I'm 6ft 4 and bought some standard clubs a few years back.

We went to one of the golf clubs in warwick and got chatting to the guy who worked in the golf shop and he measured me up with my clubs and said a 2 inch extension is what i needed!

I'm not at a great level to justify paying too much for clubs...so would like to stay around my budget...and if i can get clubs suitable for my height without having customise them, then that would be great

and if you dont mind me asking which ones did you get and how much did they cost?

You can trade in at american golf, but i dont believe they give you much tbh, better selling on here or with an advert on gumtree or something like that.

Deffinatly get measured up again, i use standard length and lie clubs and i am 6 2" and play fine with my clubs, i need to get some new ones but custom clubs can be expensive.

As asayer said, yes they do trade in.

I traded my mcgregors in for my nike's and haggled the price etc and came out with a great deal.

Clean your clubs up, take them in and see what they say, no harm in seeing what they have to offer.

Mine are some cheap dunlop ones which i paid about £80 for the whole set with a bag...so dont think I'd get much for it!

So in american golf you can haggle the price?

This will make you laugh, i am left handed, but i play golf right handed - figure that one out!!

I love golf, played since i was a little one, american golf is the most commercial golf shop out there, followed by nevada bobs. Finding left handed clubs isn't easy, but i was in nevada bobs yesterday and they had a largish selection of left handed clubs ( 8/10 sets - canterbury).

I think American golf will have the same amount, and they price match, but i guess they may not if they need to be customised, just watch out for your budget, it could go way over!

They did with me.

I suppose the figure given on the trade depends on what they sell the new clubs for.

Plus, there are always new lines being brought out so you can grab some bargains.

lol well, check this out...I am right handed and i do everything right handed except golf and cricket (batting)....

It was quite funny cause i only started playing golf about 3 years ago and when i first started i bought right handed clubs and for a month it just didnt feel right..so then i went and bought some left handed ones....i spent a good few weeks hitting balls with both right and left till i decided i'm confertable/natural with left handed ones!

Last time i was looking i saw some on ebay at reasonable prices with a 1" extension...so might just look if american golf goes over my budget!

There's nothing better than a round of golf on a nice hot sunny day

thats impressive :p

well I'm proud to say I am a fair weather golfer...I can just about see the golf ball go flying in the sky on a nice clear day! Hence not wanting to spend too much!

The number of times I've hit a ball sweetly but then look up and no sign of it

There is a custom fit "wizard" on the Forgan site which will at least give you some idea if the professional was in the right ball park.....
http://www.forgan.co.uk/CustomFitWizard.aspx
I don't know how good the clubs are ( £150 fitted) - there doesn't seem to be that much feedback on the golf forums but try these

Generally I get my golf gear from www.onlinegolf.co.uk or www.direct-golf.co.uk Keep an eye on their clearance stuff. Benross (have some myself) and MD golf clubs get good reviews and they are at the cheaper end of the market.....

Cheers mate for that...i checked out the custom fitted ones and they seem ok...not too bad for £150. At the moment i just want to get some clubs that are the right size for me...so i'm not having to adapt the way i stand when i'm playing.
