Thanks Geeks.

Won't any Amp supporting HDMI 1.3 work with 3D anyway, meaning most amps up to a couple of years ago work?

Don't know. Sound isn't my geek point.

3d is the least bit I'm interested in. Mainly the other points and audio over HDMI.

Good speakers?

3D is HDMI 1.4 as far as i am aware (or it might be more accurately 3D is partially supported at 1080i on 1.3 and 1080p over 1.4...). Also 1.4 has audio return - which may be more useful, if you get a hdmi 1.4 tv

This guy got a few good answers here:

Thread here

Personally I have the Yamaha AX763 which is a couple of years but won all the awards, only has two HDMI inputs though which isn't enough really. Yamaha always make good stuff.

I also have Kef speaker package which look very nice and perform very well though just lack a little oomph that bigger speakers provide but that's par for the course with small designer speakers.

You are correct. If 3D really is a must have at full 1080p (which broadcast TV isn't anyway, and PS3 isn't for example) then of course get a full 3D capable amp but I wouldn't limit myself to HDMI 1.4 if there were far better amps/deals on 1.3 ones.

Personally I'd rather gouge my eyes out then watch anything in 3D by choice.
