Battery life is poor, when playing games and watching videos. Same with all smart phones

I think that covers all the bad points tbh. (Then again, as he said, all smart phones have a poor battery life when you use it lots!)

Nope not really, its a pretty solid phone. Dropped mine a few times (must have hole in my hands) and is still going strong, so its good build quality.

Can be had a lot cheaper then the Iphone 4 and is similar in many ways. Overall in terms of value and quality, best phone on the market at the minute imo.

how does it compare to the iphone 4's screen? I have a friend at uni that boasts its 100's times better than the iphone screen?

It doesnt have a flash on the camera.
IMO thats just unforgivable lol

If it had a flash, i would probably have got that, but lumped for an X10 instead, cos well its Sony and their camera's are the shizzle.

Since many of the high end smartphones share similar internal components, it requires gauging of other features to determine suitability. What sets the Samsung Galaxy S apart from other devices such as HTC Desire HD is the use of an Organic LED screen and as there is no requirement for separate backlighting, OLED screens use less power (although with such small screens, the differences are small between OLED and LCD as used in most other smartphones). However, HTC claim their S-LCD screens use less energy than Samsung's AMOLED. Frankly, I don't believe that. Indeed earlier HTC Desire models used AMOLED screens until Samsung reported a shortage.

The OLED screen used by the Samsung Galaxy S does suffer from disadvantages too since S-LCD (as used in HTC Desire models) can produce sharper pictures and better colour balance. Also organic materials used in OLED have relatively shorter lifespans.

Like Has been said, it is a very bright screen. Also some phones do not handle sunlight very well and can make the screen almost unseeable, Its not the case with the the Galaxy S. :)

Nope, just use the free apps. Never found a paid for app that I can't get something similar as a free app. :)

it all depends on the signal strength though

The X10 is stuck on Android 2.1 lol. Honestly I think it's a toss up between the Galaxy S and the Desire HD depends on preference tbh.

Emmm yes....so??
Galaxy S doesnt have a flash and the camera is gash lol
Tbh my old C905 beats both of them, but the Sony was smartphone'y and the closest i could get to the C905s camera i could get.

If the Desire HD had been out then, id have got that, 8Mp versus the Galaxy's 5Mp but the galaxys 5Mp doesnt really compare to most my older phones.
Has most the other bells and whistles id want as well, DivX/Xvid etc, but you get apps to do that anyway.

some people are honest and believe people should be paid for their work.

some people shoplift and steal because they are criminals and cant afford to pay.

life is full of choice like this
