I'm going to be travelling next year and really want to pick up a good camera (that will last) so that I can post pictures to my blog and pretty much keep a record of my trip.

I have experience with DSLRs and I'm pretty comfortable with using them, so I'd be really leaning towards one of these, albeit I know my price range probably won't! (Heck even something like Sonys NEX which was on offer for ~250 the other day nearly had me but I got in too late. :( )

Anyone got any suggestions?

If i were traveling i would take a bridge if i were you. DSLRs are bulky and a pain to travel with.

Personally i would look at the Lumix TZ series, i have the 8 myself and love it.
If you can stretch to the Olympus Pen that may be worth having a look at.

I have a canon s5is bridge, it's a few years old now so you could pick one up off ebay for cheaps but it's such a great camera!
