Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions I should check out.

Shows I LOVE: I'm Alan Partridge, The IT Crowd, Father Ted, Harry Enfield and Chums, Harry and Paul, Peep Show, The League of Gentlemen, the Mighty Boosh.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I think one of the best comedies of the last few years is Coupling.

About 3 men and 3 women, all 30 something, and their relationships.

Very well written, and can be very "rude" at times.

In fact it is written by Steve Moffat who has also written some Dr Who episodes and is taking over a script editor for Dr Who next year.

Here are some scenes to give you a flavour.

Jeff is rather shy, but has fancied this girl on the train for ages, but has only seen the back of her head, and one leg.

Then one day she sits opposite him

Here is Steve at a dinner party trying to explain what the video his girlfriend found in his video recorder is all about. The film is called "Lesbian spank Inferno"

Here are the girls trying to embaress the waiter by using the word "naked"

Here is Jeff trying to chat up a girl, but he does not realise she does not understand English

And here is the scene in the sperm bank where Steve has gone to try to find out why he and his girfriend cant have children.
I love Jeff, he just says BR EAS TS all the time, doing the hand movements - watched the first ever one last night on Dave. Second series wasn't that good
Second series wasn't that good

Sorry to disagree, but the second AND third series were excellent. It was the 4th that was poor (no Jeff)

The second series has classics like "The man with 2 legs" (where my first clip came from), plus "The end of the line" (which is a classic with "Gizelle the French bitch"), plus "Her best friends bottom" with Captain subtext, plus "Naked" where Jeff meets a girlfriend and is accused of giving her a French kiss (where my 3rd clip came from) .
The IT Crowd

Not British but The Big Bang Theory is probably the best comedy on tv at the moment in my view.
Human Remains is very dark but very good, and I also love Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive.
Lead balloon is a classic
Bottom and The Inbetweeners
