Moving hous esoon and I am after a good place to buy a cheap but decent quailty sofas. You hear such horror stories form places like DFS, Land of Leather and Harveys.

Anyone had a good experience from these places or know other places?

Many thanks

Argos are ok and dealt with DFS a few years back and everything went ok

Alternatively the local skip usually has a few and you can test and smell before taking

I bought my suite from Harveys on 3 years interest free credit which is available in store on purchases over £500(I think)

It's a nice way to spread the cost of what you want.My final payment is this month:-D

Also had no problems with them, service and suite is fine:thumbsup:

we've had no problems with SCS where we bought ours last year http://www.scssofas.co.uk .
Ikea might be worth a look?

Me and the wife were in the market for a sofa suite about 3 months ago. We had a budget of about £4000'ish and were very tempted by Duresta (available at all good quality furniture outlets). You can go to their factory (by appointment!!) in Nottigham and pick the various configurations you want.

In the end we bought from Multiyork on the High Street who make their own furniture with 10 year frame guarantees. They were fantastic when we were looking to buy but their afterservice (prior to delivery) has been very disappointing.

There are going to be good and bad experiences for every furnniture retailer, in the end you pays yer money and you takes yer chances.

Good Luck.

Did DFS on 12 months interest free and then 4 payments by DD and no problems, the delivery/lead time is about 6 - 8 weeks so might be something to bear in mind if you want it for a certain date.

Joysleep are really good, they also do custom sized sofas and coverings so you get bit more of a range. Excellent quality as well.
