I wouldn't like to guess but it takes a while to get around as it is always mega busy. There is also outside ice skating in the (Princes St) gardens and a big wheel. Good atmosphere.

Think you'll find Lincoln is the biggest. 250+ stalls. It's this weekend.

My daughter went to the Manchester one last year with school and said it was really good, loads of stalls. I think Leeds has a big Christmas market too. :)

Lincoln is awesome, Although keep a check as i've heard it may be called off due to the snow this weekend.

I am a City girl at heart, I do miss it, despite how 'lovely' it is supposed to be down here, eventually your heart pulls you back I guess, I remember the days of walking through Picadilly Gardens as fast as I could and getting to the Arndale when it was first built...lol

Agree with DLM, the Manchester markets are awesome, only been up once so far this year as my youngest has a pretty nasty cough/cold and didn't want to have her out in the cold for too long.

The Xmas market just make it feel like Xmas!!!!

I'm off to Worcester tomorrow afternoon. Went to its Victorian Christmas Market last year for a day too. Its really good and in its 18th year this year but extremely busy. This year it starts 4pm on Thursday 2nd Dec. It ends on Sunday. Have also been to Lincoln one in the past and that was massive. Wasn't keen on the massive hill though. Went to Bury St Edmunds in 2008 - really enjoyed that one. Went to Durham last year but wasn't impressed with that one.

Leeds -- I went last weekend, I would not waste your time with that one..

Normally Manchester is really good..

Also.. look out for the touring French Xmas market, they do a few days in a large selection of towns,

thanks

Leeds Millennium Square is good. Get there early though if you're planning on staying the night, seats become very limited after 5pm

Birmingham ... very, very big.

Added bonus too is that it is cheaper than other German Market stalls who sell the same items.

The Birmingham one is the 6th biggest in Europe now and the largest outside Germany and Austria. Find it very expensive though and like most spend most of the time browsing the stalls buying nothing but food and drink.

3 million apparently went to last years, which is probably the night I went.

^^ lol...it felt like it, it gets very busy but adds to the atmosphere I guess.

Another vote for the Birmingham German Market, but don't go on a friday or saturday night, it gets packed and takes ages to get served at the food and drink stalls .... !!

Birmingham christmas market is brilliant, fantastic atmosphere, much bigger this year, goes right through to where the ICC is and starts at the end of new street (i think not good with road names!!) Its on right up to christmas eve. Also lovely in the evenings but much busier, but great atmpshere and there is bands playing etc.

We quickly browsed it this weekend but will be going back for a night of indulging in the food and drink.
