Am with Vodafone, have been for years. Currently paying £8 a month line rental!!!! For 300 mins, unlimited text - 500mb internet.

Now I have been told cannot have the same line rental cost anymore, so £20 per month for 24 months. Free HTC Desire S. Is this a good deal? Not so sure it is. Signed up earlier, should I call back to haggle some more???

same her, tell them to stick it! Ther are some great offers with the Samsung Galaxy S2 and you can get many more. In fact this is still valid:

Smartplan £18, 24 months
300 inclusive minutes
1000 inclusive texts
Unlimited mobile internet data included

And no need to clain cashback :)

Yes I left vodafone after 13 years as they stopped my cheap deal saying that I couldn't have a deal for less than £10pm (up from £7.50)

Well if you have made your mind up, why are you asking here?

I am worried I wont be able to cancel, but on 2nd thoughts think its a bad deal :(

if you have already signed upto the new contract I don't think there is much you can do and I don't think they would be willing to debate a better deal as they will just state you are now tied for 24 months. Always worth a try though, They can only say no.

Called them back...they gave me 1gb internet for £20. Can negotiate further when I have the phone. Whats a better phone the Samsung Galaxy S or the Desire S?

Can't help with the phones, but at least they gave you a little bit more for your money. Worth another try though like you say once you have the phone.
