Wanna be catching carp or trout, has anyone got any experience in using meat and biscuits? Got some maggots aswell but the area I'm fishing can be quite bad for eel - and no offence to the fish but eel are just horrible, slimey slithering suckatashes.

Got a few maggot feeders, never fished with meat or biscuits. I do have a few ledgers but not used them for a while. Whats sweetcorn good for catching?

pretty good mate tbh, havnt been fishing in years but luncheon meat , sweetcoen n maggots and maybe a few worms were always my choice. i was lucky growing up as we got fresh running water on 1 part of the river and still on another part ........also a weir which was good for brown/rainbow trout all 5 mins away

Im quite lucky too, got the river calder running literally right through my town with about 5 spots where its good for fishing, some really good calm spots. Big fishing lodge about 5-10 minutes away and a huge lake about 15 minutes in the car.

Dog biscuits from poundland

i use dog biscuits and never fail

dog biscuits pedigree chum mixer free floating, my favourite method, i love stalking carp, maybe using a controller float to get them out a bit further, soak them so they go slightly soft either hook straight through them or hair rig them.

instead of luncheon meat try some pepperami, sweetcorn is ok but if there is bream they will strip the hook in seconds.

love to see some photos when you get one

tin of kit e kat bag of flour mix them together (its messy) nailed on bite a chuck does not stay on long leave the point of the hook showing.

thanks for that  good fish, nice set up & a lovely looking lake, I love french carp fishing, I try to stay away from the more commercialised lakes & look for quieter ones.

Cheers for all the tips everyone.

Ended up using maggots and was REALLY quiet till about 2200, then started getting bites. Mate pulled out a chubb and a minnow - he was gutted!

Got to about 2300 and I was getting bored so started casting futher up the river into a little current and pulled 4 trout out (5 really but the last one I got to the banking and because its a really high banking by the time I'd got the landing net he'd got away).

Got a few pictures on my mates phone so will get them up ASAP.
