Ok i bought a Digihome DTR160 DTR 4 months ago

and it was good for the first week but then continually crashed and froze but thought ok will see how it goes for the next few months - and for the past 2 weeks it hasnt been recording the programmes i want at all even though the timer is set alongside a series timer it fails to record

it sometimes records 7 mins into a programme and then cuts out and this happens every 6 or so episodes if recording a series

So im sick of it and will be takign ti back to argos for a refund with my receipt

Now the thing that made me want to get this one is 160gb hard drive - being able to record 3 things at once as well as watching another channel while recording - alonside series link etc etc also pause live tv

But im wondering (as this is £95) is it worth spending £20 odd extra for a decent one with hdmi connection or at least a decent picture on my high def tele -

So can anyone recommend a decent freeview recorder that allows digital normal def to look good on an hdtv

Max £130

Daniel

I've got a cheap twin tuner [twin recorder] Techwood from tescos. my 80G has been great for the 9 months I've had it. it needs a fairly decent signal or you get a bit of chopping. it's quiet and runs cool. don't know about power consumption... and it doesn't have series link.
at the weekend i saw that they [tescos] did a 160G version for about £90.

but i'd try rescanning once or twice. i've noticed that rescanning can improved or screw up what you are able to record. for me it's Channel 5 [fiveUS and Fiver] that need tweaking now and then...
