The wife wants to book a holiday for May/June next year.
Any advice on good places to go with a 18 month old.
Im thinking maximum flight of 4-5 hours.
Any suggestions appreciated, but we do want it to be abroad.

Sorry op , totally misread , anyway on topic i would suggest Menorca, we took our Daughter there when she was 2 and ir was ideal , not too hot and not rowdy and also nice short flight @ 2 hrs

I agree, with a younger child Menorca or the Algarve, shorter flights than say the Canaries and not quite as hot. In Menorca lots of resorts close to airport and more for the family market than some of the other islands.

Wherever they end up, I hope you enjoy your two weeks peace and quiet at home.

I didnt think about Menorca, but the idea sounds good, will look into it a bit more.

4-5 hours with an 18 month old on your lap, unless you buy him/her their own seat, will be a nightmare for you!! We were lucky when we flew to Paris with Easyjet, our family sat in strategic places to stop people sitting next to us!! Got a seat for our 2 year old then. I would say keep to the Spains, 2 hours is going to be enough for a little one.

I think we have decided on menorca. Now to let the misses investigate hotels.
Cheers for all your help

we took our little one when he was one to Salou, stayed at Port Aventura, he loved it. Sesame street world they have just built was amazing for him, the hotel was quiet (el paso all inc) lots of food he ate, drinks and ice cream on tap and water park just around the corner, wasn't too hot and only a 2 hour flight!

we go to Disney land next month our little one is now 19 months.. its just over 1 hour flight and he's on our laps and I'm dreading it!! i wouldn't like a 4 hour flight! no thanks!

we went to cuba when my daughter was 18 months old and thats a 9 hour flight she was completely fine no problems whats so ever.
since then we have returned and never had problems infact we are booked to go again next year only difference is she is 9 years old now.
and that could be far worse as she will be asking constantly if we are nearly there yet lol.
