Still think Drinkwater should have been in the squad.

Well done Wales, BTW.

Sounds like the games over for England off the pitch. Beaten by everyone, allegedly. Shameful behaviour all round!

Good first half for England. Lots of opportunities to score, but none converted. Come on England :)

Should have bought Rashnaldo on, He seems to be in the right place at the right time, Kane was poor. On the whole we shot our selves in the foot with a typical England let down at the end :(.

Why the hell was that useless git Sterling got to play instead of Vardy?
Why did Kane get to take the corners? He should be in the box.
Why put on someone who has hardly played in the last 12 months?

Vak king poor tactics Woy. You're blood y useless. :(

I'm not sure why he kept Sterling on so long. All he does is run to a fantastic crossing position and then lose the ball.

Yeah he's half of the frustration but most of the time no one to cross too :(, Only on a couple of occasions did you see players gamble and make runs in the box. Dam frustrating :( but over all a good display so some positives.

Yea, I agree. They played well. A bit of a killer instinct in the box and I would really fancy our chances of progressing deep in to the tournament. I was quite impressed with the defensive display tonight too.

Still 6 points to play for and a point on the board. If we can build on the positives then we have a good chance.

A poor man's Shaun Wright-Philips. He was rubbish. I was happy with the overall performance though.

Lets just hope we can keep our heads, I think if we continue the way we did tonight then we'll be a threat to any team in the competition, Russia were extremely lucky, one chance and one goal :(, That's sometimes how it goes, Frustrating, As you say if we build on the positives we can go far :).

England v Bale next and I'm quietly confident we'll get the result we want :).

Why are you even in this thread? You're obviously just here to mock England. If you didn't see a good overall performance from England tonight then you don't know anything about football. They were far from terrible on the pitch.

So am I. Much better than I expected from the first game of the tournament. We desperately need a player to go for the balls which are crossed in to the box though. I lost count of the amount of times the ball missed every single England player. Or to be more accurate, every player in the box didn't go for the ball.

Because this is square 1, the first game.

Not really much to compliment on the pitch, the team never really stepped up.

This is Russia after all

Keepin Bale quiet is the key, and to a lesser extent Ramsay. I'm quietly confident that we can get a result against them.

The answer was on the bench, He had the option of Rashford or Vardy, He could of took Kane off, imo he didn't have his greatest game.

Did you watch any of the game? I think you're basing your analysis on the result, not the game, Yes sure we should of took our chances better but to say "They never stepped up" is ridiculous, Each and every player gave their all, Russia had a little bit of luck and it changed the result. England should have come away with 3 points and most of the time they do.

I agree it was pretty typical, conceding the way they did, but they were far from terrible, that's my point.
