I know there aren't many Rangers fans looking at their PC's tonight but I wish them well in the Uefa cup final

I've thought about cashing in on this game a few fans could probably stay in my house and my garden.

In Manchester £99 rooms are going for £2,500 supposedly!

#24
NOOOOOOO come on the gers, get a few back and win
#25
All over - zenit are a bunch of time wasters!!
#26
It would have been a complete disgrace to football and an injustice to Zenit if they were to win tonight. Finally, Walter's awfully defensive minded tactics didn't work out.

Rioting in Manchester already and a Zenit fan stabbed outside the stadium, complete scum!

We welcome the chase!

Well now English people can see what the rest of us Scottish Football supporters - who don't support the Old Firm - have to put up with on a regular basis.

A despicable, despicable football club, with abhorrent fans.

Aw boo hoo.
Moan all ya want, without the Old Firm, Scottish Football would be even more of a laughing stock than it is atm. Why you think they both want to ditch it for the English Premier?

Anyway anyone that didnt predict trouble is an idiot, as it was obvious Manchester didnt have a clue what they had let themselves in for in hosting a European Event.
Telling fans to stay away before they rush up some big screens that break......idiots.
They flew in some 100Metre thing into Ibrox no probs, if you cant sort things out dont host events like this...simple.

They're had been lots of negative comments on here about Manchester.
Initially the council said, no ticket don't come down.
Then, they said, no, we'll create fan zones, safe areas to watch the game in safety and enjoyment, big screens put up in 3 parts of the City.

Tesco, yes, good ole Tesco were actually warned by MC Council for selling cheap beer at their Market Street store. Local TV shown the camp sites, the staple food items were crisps and lager.

There was a reported 120,000 Ranger's fans in and around Manchester, coupled with all of the above it was always gonna be a powder keg. BBC sport report that one of the big screens failed and bottles were thrown. I wonder if you were at home and were drunk, would you throw bottles at your own TV and those around you?

And so it ended, the worst result for the Council and local Police, their worst fears brought to fruition and it all kicked off.

So to those who complained and moaned that the Council didn't want fans without tickets here, given all that happened, it's not so difficult now in the cold light of day to see why some fans were not wanted.

I am not happy that fans have come to near where i live and caused such carnage. Seems ironic given what my fans did at Boro last week, but that was what 20 fans tops and given the recent shambles at City, i can understand why, but when you see the pictures today, hearing as has been said of the stabbing, and given that i work on the road network, hearing the stories of motorways being strewn with litter, debris, mostly lager cans, scarves and porn mags i hope next time we are lucky enough to hold a final, we get fans who are fans not those intent on rioting.

As an epilogue, i will say, well done and thank you to those who came down, had fun, enjoyed the time in manchester and hope that it was worth the journey, thank you.

Big thanks to everyone that made our visit to Manchester so wonderful( albeit the score- but i had a ball). To the shop staff, the stewards and even the initial hands off approach of the police my appreciation and gratitude for your friendleness, professionalism and your warmth (i thought Manchester was supposed to be always wet?).

My apologies for the shocking behaviour of a couple hundred of our 200,000 fans!! A lack of foresight or preparation from the council is not an appropriate excuse as i had spent all day in piccadily square and at approx 6.00pm my friends and i became anxious of the overcrowding and the tension in the air and went to Albert Square where we partied the night away. Manchester was not prepared nor planned for this invasion with inadequate facilities and faulty equipment but that does not give some of my fellow fans the right to riot in your city or abuse your hospitality. They only bring shame to the name of Rangers and to Scotland.

Thanks, but only telling the truth. Up until 6pm it was one of the greatest days in my life. (Up with scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef, walking along the Via Dolorosa and oh, yeah....getting married)
Lots of sun, a few beers, pretty girls and a singathon and "bouncy bouncy" along Market St. Was expecting some negativity from locals peeved by our invasion but from the initial train journey from Littleborough (where we were based) to everyone i encountered in Manchester we received nothing but wishes of good luck and open arms. Again thankyou and sorry for the idiots.
