What???

did you even look at the website???

A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed for WindowsVienna.com and Geekpedia.com that the development of Windows 7 will take approximately 3 years from the general availability of Windows Vista, which would put the release date somewhere in 2011:

We are currently in the planning stages for Windows 7 and development is scoped to three years from Windows Vista Consumer GA. The specific release date will be determined once the company meets its quality bar for release.

lol. 80s are back!

Actually, I've found Vista to be generally more stable than my experiences of XP, although Internet Explorer is about stable as Jenga at the moment!

That new toolbar does look almost identical to the Mac - oh, to be an Apple/Microsoft lawyer - a job for life!

Rubbish.

Vista was released to business customer in December 2006 and to retail market in January 2007.

So that is about 18 months.

This web site has nothing to do with Microsoft and could have been put together by anybody using quotes from various Microsoft web sites and press releases.

Any screen shots on there (or anywhere else) could be mock ups put together by the design teams to see what people liked.

Final thing: When are we going to stop this facination with the Windows operating system.

An operating system should sit there quietly in the background, helping you get your work done, or play games, or what you do on your computer.

XP mostly does that, whereas Vista just gets in the way, and seems to be constantly shouting "look at me, aren't I lovely operating system".

An operating system should be like a car engine. We should know its there, and hope it works, but we actually dont want to have much to do with it if we can help it.
