I'm thinking about getting my dad some tickets to this for his birthday, but I don't know any one that has gone before.

Is it worth going?
What did you think of it?
What was the turn out of classic cars like?
Could you recommend any other racing/car shows, possibly with a classic twist?

I've seen some of the promo videos for 2011 and wasn't impressed, is it better/worse than it looks?

It's either this, a day deep sea fishing (but that's a 4 hour round trip), or something for his Jensen Healey.

Easily one of the best motorsports events on the planet.

I go because I love F1 and nowhere in the world offers you such a good chance to get right up close to F1 cars and drivers. The same applies to ALL the cars there - you can get right up to them, see them driven in anger, talk to the owners / drivers etc.

I know a few people that have been and every single year they all agree that they'd pay twice as much to get in. It really is THAT good.

Excellent show, been many times. If I recommend one show I would say the revival in september is better than the fest of speed.

He's not a fan of F1, is there a greater F1 aspect than there is any other type of car?

Thank you, mind if i ask what kind of cars you are into?

All sorts mainly supercars, high performance, and luxury. Not justF1 also revival is based on old cars and dressing up, it just a great day out.

If you want to get real close to the cars and drivers the fest of speed is better. More cars you can touch rather than just see.

Cheers, sounds like just the thing.
Might get a few bits for the Jensen Healey too since deep sea fishing is the price of four festival of speed tickets.

Festival of speed is a nightmare to get to! Get there early to avoid severe congestion in local villages and towns!

I took my family by light aircraft, so no traffic but the big failing is that they use those large straw bales around the track, so unless you are in a corporate stand which is elevated, you have a poor view of the track. I thought that it was full of ego's on a day out and also expensive. All in all, overpriced and full of the type that drives a BMW and wears a big watch.
