In some cases people can use google to find an easy answer but sometimes it's good to ask on a forum. You might not know what to search for exactly or be that familiar with searching. You may find you just want reassurance from a fellow member as to where to look. Google can throw back many pages of answers but which do you use if there are differing opinions?

If people didn't ask questions on forums then there wouldn't be any solutions on google anyway as most search results are from forums like this one.

googling is fine but sometimes u get more specific answers on here.

im certain the op isnt going to the extreme of saying that people cant ask questions on a forum....hes merely saying that some questions really do not need to be posted ie

"what time does argos close on a thursday in the harrow store?"

or

"how many sides does a rectangle have?"

^^last one a tad extreme but most of the questions the op is talking about does not require an opinion, the answer can be found out using google or common sense.

yes cause we need to leave more room for the ? threads

Asking questions on here is much more fun than Googling.

When i asked about whether i could eat food from my freezer after leaving the door open for a few hours the differing answers were fab.

Some said don't eat the food,i'd get food poisoning etc,i did eat it and nothing happened:-D

things like

i have a lump on my face do i have cancer or am i pregnant, lol either google that or go see a GP, maybe its just me but its always first port of call for me cos i get the answer within seconds, but hey there are good banter threads on here where people get slated so dont want to eliminate some of that :)

merry christmas everyone

googling isnt always the answer,as has been said a lot of results link you to threads in forums and the answers can vary wildly.

In general,I get your point, but heres a for instance-Ive been searching around for whether certain blu ray titles are region free or not-for most of them I can find just as many results saying it is as it isnt. Somewhere like here I may find someone who actually has bought the disc and played it in a uk player instead of endless lists of region free titles that can vary in what they say.

so yes, google is your friend, but it isnt always the answer.
