Google's got a competitor to eBay apparently...
Well, I say competitor, whether it'll work remains to be seen - after all nobody had noticed that Google had launched this - I didn't until I saw someone mention it on another site just...

Then again, though someone said it's their own version of an auction site - it's hard to tell from that whether it really is or not - any thoughts?

Basically, instead of basing searches on algorithms (which has been OK for me), what if users could create the listings for a search term?? So you type in biscuits, and instead of getting the usual rubbish you'd get on Google it could lead to more relevant results.
That seems to be the idea behind it anyway.

Wikipedia wanted to take on Google. So what do Google do? Make it first. As they should do. Fair play to them really.
Basically, you add information... e.g. a recipie or interesting website... and YOU define the search terms which will show that result rather than some complicated algorithm.
For example, at the moment if I google for "moon landing" then most of the first page is about conspiracies... not great if I'm trying to do some research on the moon landing.
