I think Apple are missing a trick with OS X. They should SERIOUSLY think about releasing a PC version of their OS. Running a hackintosh PC is all well n good, but it doesn't beat actually having certified drivers to use.

hope the google one will be as good as chrome browser and I think lot of people will wait with either XP until this released

i doubt they will do that. sales will fall for their macbooks and i macs as the main selling point is the Mac osx.

It's not something to get too excited about at the moment, I think. The way they seem to be talking, it gives me the impression that ChromeOS will just be the basics required to run the browser, and not a lot else. Just a stripped Linux kernel, drivers, and a browser. Every app will be run through the browser. It's great if you're only going to use the system for a browser and the Google suite of apps, but not a lot else. Beyond that though, well, there's a reason they're targeting at only the webbook market right now.

There will still be people who buy MacBooks etc, purely because they trust the brand and see Apple hardware as reliable. When you consider the software market is more lucrative than the hardware market, I think they're missing a trick.
